He already is World class that's why some of the world's biggest clubs want him

Not for me. He's a very good player who has improved a lot under Poch but his end product is lacking. He rarely puts in a first time cross but checks back looking for another option. His crossing isn't in the same class as Trippier's. What he has got is pace, an amazing engine and a much improved defensive game. To be a world class wing back you have to have a good final ball imo. I'd prefer he stays and is happy to stay but if he wants out I won't be gutted. If I had to lose Walker or Rose I'd lose Walker. Rose is a far better wing back. Let's just get top dollar for him and move on.

If the rumours of city going for Mendy is true, will Walker want to go to City knowing he will be 2nd choice, even if he has more dosh each week.

Hopefully he will go abroad

According to a Citeh fan, he thinks the Walker deal is done. I did mention you do realise you'll dealing with Levy, don't you. And not to believe all this Sky Sport sources bollocks.

Probably the same city fan who said it was being announced on Friday then hour later walker was playing for us.

I do believe he's going though

Can you name 5 definitively better right backs in Europe

My point is - I think Man City will make their maximum offer to get Walker in. If that is not enough, they will move on to other targets. Nothing about "strong-arming" Levy or Spurs. City have the money, and want to get their business done. They must bring in a RB this summer.

The danger for Spurs, is IF they are counting on Walker money to fund other acquisitions, that money may not be there if City move on. Without City bidding, other teams will not feel the pressure to over-bid...so, delaying the transfer - could be a bad thing, if Spurs are relying on those funds to strengthen the squad.

So, bottom line - it's not always in our best interest to hold out on a transfer - it all depends on the bigger picture. This is not a Bale situation, where Madrid could wait until the end - City have to bring in a RB, and can't afford to wait until the end.

What we don't want, is a disgruntled player - like a Berahino - where we have to keep this year and sell for 50% next summer.

From what we've seen of Walker I truly think he'd just get on with it if he's still here next year. Also he's contracted until 2021 I believe and so we wouldn't lose 50% on his fee if we sold him in a years time assuming his performance levels don't drastically drop next season.

Obviously I can't speak for Poch but I really don't think we need massive investment to push on again next season, maybe someone like Barkley who we could hopefully get on the cheap. Better luck with injuries is going to be more of a factor than any potential signing we could make.

Man City ITK (so pinch of salt and all):

Terms have been agreed with Walker, but think there's still a bit of haggling going on with Levy, as you'd expect. Think it's concerning add-ons.

Can you name 5 definitively better right backs in Europe

I could waste a few mins naming 5 better right backs but that isn't the point. You said he was world class. I said he wasn't. He is just a very good player but he lacks a vital ingredient to be world class in his position. He lacks a first time ball and a quality ball. He gets into the positions to deliver those balls but the actual delivery just isn't in his locker. If he had Trippier's delivery he would be world class no doubt. He is one of the most frustrating players for me. He gets into incredible positions where we get behind a defence and then because he knows he lacks the ability to deliver an accurate first time ball he checks back, by which time the defense has had time to get back in position. I really wish he did have that ability, as then he would be incredible and I'd be gutted to lose him. I would imagine they have tried everything to coach it out of him but it just isn't in there. Still I'd rather he stayed with us as he is a very good player. It does show there is a lack of really top top right backs around that he is in such demand. A lack of world class players in a position doesn't mean those on the next rung down suddenly be classed as word class though.

Top 5 we could sign? Other than Nelson Semedo please.

I half agree with this . Yes , a high percentage of Walker's attacks are unproductive , but there has been on a few occasions
a clever penetrative pass from him , a good cross . It just doesn't happen enough .

But Trippier can have spectacularly off colour games with spells of terrible passes/crosses...and also there were those European nights of his .

Walker is more of a beast obviously and there is something reassuring in that he's unlikely to be muscled off the ball . Difficult choice imo .

Looking at all the absolute crap players City have spent insane sums on (Bony, Mangala, Fernando), I'm genuinely surprised that they have it in them to haggle. I just assumed that they figured a reasonable price, doubled it, added a zero and submitted the offer, with the deal never needed to be haggled over.

Or maybe they've done that, and Levy being Levy is trying to secure all future Quatari oil recources.
