But then VAR not picking up the issues?

Fair enough the ref won't see/get everything right, but that's when VAR should step in.

Madison's penalty appeal was dismissed, the stream I was watching said it looked the right call, then seen another angle and changed their mind in seconds to clear foil and penalty.
Because it's still a human trying to quickly analyse what has happened.

But all I needed was a look at 2/3 angles to see it was. A couple of minutes at most.

The ref was poor but I think who ever was on VAR was worse today.

With all the crap that came out about VAR and refs backing their mates up ect, you can easily see why people don't trust their "errors" when they have them.

I agree it was a mistake, but that's all it was, a mistake. Not some bollocks corruption that sees the refs conspiring with the FA and Premier league to prevent Spurs from winning

Howard Webb was asked the other day on an interview with Neville whether they were prepared to send off a player for time wasting. He said absolutely yes.

the ref bottled it pure and simple

Thought this must be the case, but also thought that a keeper handball was a straight red regardless
Agreed - it does have to be an "intentional" handling, so I can only assume that the referee decided that, while he intentionally handled the ball, he did not do so knowing he was outside the box.

Just home and fucking hell, what a last 10 minutes.

We weren’t at our best but heads didn’t drop and we kept going.

The PL really need to look at the time wasting in this game and see if it fits their “product” as that was as bad as anything Stoke served up. Ref was weak, particularly with the keeper but not much he can do with players constantly being “injured” but somehow being able to carry on.

Lastly, not sure if the celebration police weren’t happy with the celebrations at the end but Sonny pushing Richi forward to take the limelight was lovely.

Such a frustrating match for almost all of it. I went nuts when I thought Johnson had scored and almost didn’t have the energy to go mad at the actual goals 😂
