Oh look, we’re starting the season on the back foot with a negative and distracting situation surrounding the club.

Again.

Imo, not a mission he turns this move down. He knows he has the opportunity to get out now, he’ll grab it. Worst case he does a season or 2 in Germany and then prob either comes back to UK or heads to 🇺🇸

Of course, this is conditional to agreement from Harry. Don’t be surprised if he turns it down..

Based on nothing? Were you born last year or are you just ignoring the last 20 years?

Give me a fucking break.
I have had a season ticket for the past 20 years and started watching Spurs in 88/89 when I went to my first match. I've watched almost every home game for 20 years, every final, semi final etc. I remember all of it vividly.

I suspect your journey has been a bit shorter.

Strange that it appears everyone is waiting for lane to agree to the move I thought this was fairly certain that he was happy to go….

My educated guess with that's happened.

Bayern made an "acceptable" bid last week (as our ITKs said).
Levy got to work on replacements, with an agreement that Bayern kept quiet and leaving the decision with Kane.
Kane's a lot less sure than he was given how long it took Bayern to commit, his wife's imminent pregnancy, the reception he got after scoring 4, etc.
Knowing what Kane's said about a deadline before the season starts, Bayern are starting to leak to the press that an offer's been accepted to put the pressure on.

I reckon it could go either way still.

This has got to be the case.

It doesn't make any sense to have such a hard fought negotiation between the two clubs to then only now ask Kane what he wants to do.

You would think that if it's only now we've accepted an offer then the announcement would be that Kane is definitely going and not that it's up now up to him to decide.

Was feeling a lot more confident when we were hearing serious names flying about and getting told we’d spend first like with Bale. The fact that’s gone dead quiet apart from a couple of kids scares me most.

I'm not sure if I'm numb to it out of denial, but it seems too quiet for it to be real. I reckon its still 50/50.

If something has changed since last week that has persuaded levy to drop the asking price, the only thing that I can think is that Kane has said he's definitely not going to sign a new contract no matter what and is pushing the matter. But that clashes with what we've heard recently.

EDIT: got a couple of informative reacts, fyi this is 100% opinion. This deal has always been in levys hands and levys hands alone and nobody has known how it will go.

Why couldn't they just have paid up at the start?

I get it's a game of negotiation but we should of been clear and said this is the price, if you haven't paid up by 1st August its not happening

Instead Levy doesn't mention a price as he'd rather play the "game' with them in the hope to extract the maximum....

and puts that over avoiding disrupting our preparations for the season with a new manager.

Really is so clear where our true objectives lie

Played it quite well?

The season starts tomorrow?!?

Yeah, and we have plenty of other players in the squad that a) want to be here and b) are capable of beating Brentford.

If we've really got to the point where people think the whole season is buggered because Kane leaves then we really are the Harry Kane Team and we might as well shut up shop now.

If he leaves I'm positive at least one new striker will come in. We can manage with what we have until the 1st of September without a meltdown.

It’s not just the decision to sell our best player a day before the league starts, it is also confirming all the negatives about working for Tottenham and Levy that everyone is always going on about.

We are literally acting in a counter productive way that only harms us.

Yes, I’m emotional but I’m so fucking fed up with our chairman not giving two shits about the footballing side of the club.

The way he has run the club is now culminating in losing someone who should be here for life, our top scorer and arguably our greatest ever player.
I understand the frustration but Ange is living the dream right now. All this noise isn’t ideal and I’m sure he’d rather it was done differently but I bet he’s still buzzing about Sunday and the season ahead, with or without Kane.

I think Kane will go. He said that he wanted us to get a big fee for him, and well, 120m is a big fee.

When you boil it all down he’s wanted to leave to a top top CL challenging side for the last few years so if this how now been agreed I think he goes and Kate and family will support him to make it work.

He’s been an incredible servant to the club, welcome back later in his career but if it’s done we move on to a new exciting chapter with Ange, just hope we get 3 top signings in at CB, RW and ST to offset him going as best we can.
