I mentioned this in my post above, he either has a preconceived idea/manager he has the horn for (Ramos, Redknapp, Mourinho) OR if not then it takes him an absolute age to decide because he doesn't fundamentally understand football and never will and he overanalyses everything and is too easily influenced by the other board members, agents, DofF etc so far too many voices and opinions added to a guy who doesn't and will never really know what he is doing as he is not a football specialist and never will be.What’s changed with Levy, he has always historically been so quick to replace managers.
Jol with Ramos
Poch with mourinho
to name a few
why has he more recently been so indecisive?
With Jose for example on the AON documentary he said (min 1:02 in) "There are in my mind two top top coaches in the world, one of them is at another PL club and the other one is Jose" we also know that Levy tried to hire Jose a number of time previously.
The issue with this approach with for example hiring Jose no matter what was that it was too simple, Levy didn't and isn't able to think about the wider picture and ingredients needed to create a high functioning cohesive, successful, football operation and why would he, the guy has never played or coached football at any level, he is and will always be first and foremost an Accountant a money man.
So when he doesn't have a preconceived idea as to what/who he wants e.g. Ramos, Redknapp, Mouriniho, THEN we end up with this very drawn out long process of overanalysing and jumping from one idea to the next and this is fundamentally our n.o1 issue.
Mason and Kane both said it recently, clubs need a plan, a philosophy and they need consistency for success and we have none of those under Levy.
I just hope and pray that by a stroke of luck the next Manager he lands on is the right fit and the DofF somehow is also the right fit and we can slowly build from there, the fact they had the internal football review from external consultant and appointed Munn who is formerly City Group is the only thing that gives me some semblance of hope that the next Manager we land on might be a good fit but with Donna and the rest of the board and other agents all in Levy's ear and no DofF in place those factors concern me in-line with Trix's ITK.
We just have to all cross our fingers and toes and hope the pin the roulette as to who we land on is a Manager who can identify with our clubs real true values and DNA and that they are given time and control to build a new exciting project.
