I want a manager who actively wants to manage us and be part of the club. I’ve had enough of egomaniacs acting like they’re doing us a favour by gracing us with their presence. Slot pushing to secure the job is a ‘uge tick in the Yes box for me. Still feels to me like Nagelsmann is waiting around to see what else comes up
I think it’s more like Nagelsmann is waiting for us to sort our shit out so we can inform his decision making. Specifically who would be his immediate superior (DOF) as that appointment is the person who should be laying out our football strategy, recruitment plans etc.

We appoint our DOF, which I suspect is reasonably near, and then that person sells his vision and strategy to Nagelsmann (or whom ever we are targeting).

* edit - beaten to it by ‘million’ in the post above (great minds etc)…

Yeah I suppose, and it makes sense for him I’m just not totally convinced JN really wants the job as his top priority

Also, I’m just a Slot Slut

Always disappointed when managers 'push' for a move to another club if this is true.
People push for moves to other companies in general life, so why is football any different? if he is actually pushing a move to us then that says to me he wants to be at our club. That's a positive.

I’m a Slot slut too. He just seems right for some reason.

Also a Slot-Spors combo could be decent.

The point is this would mean we have offered him the job.

Although I respect your opinion I think this is absolutely insane. Mason has done well in a couple of matches but does not have the experience at this level to seriously be given a job of this size. Especially with the calibre of managers currently available.
Clearly not insane. He's doing the job right now, and we're starting to look more confident, better organised and more flexible tactically. And sometimes experience isn't the be all and end all. Jose has bags of experience. Conte has bags of experience. The ability to lead is far more important than experience.

Yes pleaseeeeeeeeee he feels like he could be Martin Jol mark II.

He's probably at this point my n.o1 preference as he just gives off this warm feeling and his teams play such lovely Spurs type of football and he'd actually like to be our Manager rather than some of the other options who might see us more as a stepping stone.
Not seen or read anything about him - what gives you the impression he can tie BMJ’s shoe laces?

Masons 31. It appears there are a number of good options available now which are alot less risky than mason so think it's not the time for mason. Let him go off and manage a club or two for 5/6 years and he'll still be under 40 and if he's successful he could manage us for 5/6 years no bother at all.
Too risky now both for him and us.

To dare is to wait till it's not too risky.

;)

Seriously I think it was riskier to hire Mourinho and Nuno. Two managers whos style of managing does not fit with Tottenham at all. But that's just me.

Don’t forget he was a key part of the set up that led us to be losing 5-0, 3-0 and 2-0 down in those games. We beat palace wow. You want him to manage us because he’s “Tottenham” we would be bottom half with him as manager next season imo

If we end up with Mason then things really have hit rock bottom considering the options that are attainable right now. Mason seems like a great guy but if anyone thinks the players will consistently perform for a total rookie once the novelty of conte ringing in their ears wears off then they don’t know this squad well enough. Have to get a blend of an attacking coach but one that can really command respect, because they’ve actually been through some successes as a coach.

We won't end up with Mason this summer so calm down.
For the record I don't say that because he is no good, I say it because he is still too inexperienced for a club like ours. I'll go on to say that I think he will become a very good coach and it will be interesting to see how well he does and if he reaches the standard of a top premier league side, personally I think he has it in him but it's a tough gig.
