Yep, so the idea that we had a slow, consistent upward trajectory under Poch is nonsense.

We had one season that was up and down and finished 5th before having 4 seasons consistently competing at the top while playing excellent football.
And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for many years, entertaining, exciting football passed out of all knowledge.

What i'd give just to feel excited about a match-day or look forward to a run of fixtures knowing we can build on some good form. It's not asking for much is it?

at least it happened now, rather than 8 games down the line. Hopefully this can facilitate quicker decisions

And it's cut and dry, banned, goodbye.

I'd expect a quiet announcement in a week or two, even if he's tying up stuff now.

Wasn't a fan of his signing but he has surprised me and actually signed some great players, plus managed to loan/sell some high earners in the club. Think he will be remembered positevly here, even Royal looks like a good signing now. I guess jury is still out on Gil, but he's good enough to get into Spanish NT at least.

i am wondering if it's down to these 2 guys, who would you rather have and why? 2 guys who are not the most popular picks among fans but look quite interesting...

Ange Postecoglou and Arne Slot
Why these two? I haven't been keeping up to date with happenings. What happened to Nagelsmann, Gallardo, De Zerbi, etc.?

Overall Fab's been good on the player front and god-awful in every other area. Ironically, in spite of his failings, he's still probably one of the better DoFs we've had - especially if Sarr and Udogie both work out - but now's the ideal time for him to leave as the last thing we want is his input on the manager front.

The fact that I'd genuinely prefer Levy pick our next manager over our Director of Football says it all - he must be the only person in the entire fucking hemisphere that thought Gattuso was a better option than Fonseca for Spurs post-Jose. And bringing in Nuno and strong-arming him into playing an "attacking" 4-3-3...absolutely laughable.

A lot of the memes and videos are funny but it does annoy that we are now a comedy banter club. The best facilities in Europe and a clown show, like a £1bn circus.
You're onto something. We should target players who like to do tricks on the pitch, ala Richie, so we can be a footballing Globetrotters. Teams can score rugby scores against us but we'll be highly entertaining and provide a laugh.

Welcome to "Whose Lane Is It Anyway?" The club where the football's made up and the points don't matter.

I’m actually slightly horrified by the reaction to the Emma Hayes suggestion. Can I just say that if you’re dismissing it, or ‘liking’ posts dismissing it, then it says a hell of a lot more about you than it does Emma Hayes or any other female manager. There was a time when a foreign manager managing in England would have seemed abhorrent. Explain to me what it is that makes women incapable of managing a team of men? Happens all the time in the workplace…are they devoid of tactical nous? Player management? Do they not understand how to set up technical training? I’m genuinely fascinated why a woman can’t do it, please enlighten me. And if it’s just that “it’s never been done before” then fuck me, let’s never introduce any change whatsoever. Let’s go back to kicking a pigs bladder around a field with no offsides and 16 players on a team.
My rating is set to take a battering here I’m sure but I don’t care.

Do me a favour mate.

There's just no way they're getting serious respect by the players...no matter what way we debate it, they just aren't.

Not sure what the issue is with Arne Stol. It’s not just a flash in the pan season, he had top three finishes with AZ and a top three with Feyenoord and is now sat top playing attacking football.

I think Emma Hayes is great and certainly displays a better tactical mind that 95% of other pundits/managers I've seen on TV.

Also, not gonna lie, I don't want Spurs to be the first club to bring in a female manager as it's just such a massive risk given the differences in scale, finance, culture, etc.

Given the difference in level between women's football and the PL, it would be like bringing a non-league manager straight to a top 6 team. That's more my issue with it than her gender.

Agreed. Should have been Head of Scouting rather than DOF.
