Am i missing something what is the big deal about Postecoglu? I admit i'm not very educated about his career but even i could manage that Celtic team in a one horse league as nearest competition Rangers are far away at the moment.

Me too. Seems like a very erudite and passionate guy. He talks very very positively about attacking football and from what others have said, his terms in Australia and Japan played on the front foot.

I find him hard to judge tbh, Celtic play decent football but I wouldn't say Ive been awestruck by them. He appears a likeable character (a guy you'd have a few beers with) which isn't a big deal for me personally but I know its important for some fans.

A lot of the memes and videos are funny but it does annoy that we are now a comedy banter club. The best facilities in Europe and a clown show, like a £1bn circus.
I agree and it’s a tricky position to be in although I don’t engage too much in ‘banter.

It’s potentially damaging in the short term but if it helps to bring real change in the club then it may help in the long run.

Levy will be hating it too, if only because it’s bad for business and making us an attractive brand. Players and managers are becoming increasingly aware of it also and the Conte rant will have exacerbated that. Again, it may hurt but might ultimately help to change the direction of the club.

We live in hope.

However it’s a tricky position to find ourselves in. It’s potentially damaging in the short term but if it helps to bring real change in the club then it may help in the long run.

The Tottenham Hotspur Travelling Circus could be a nice moneyspinner to go with the go-kart track tbf. Throw in an adjoining clown college and Levy will be licking his lips.

I certainly don't expect any discernible 'new manager bounce' that's for sure.

In fact, the longer we don't have the successor lined up and the players can look to a future under then I see this season fizzling out against the backdrop of a fanbase who's had enough of the fucking circus!
Short term I do expect the bounce. It may not be new manager but it will be personal pride or we’ll show them mentality. In addition their mentality has been questioned. I anticipate a reaction. Harry and Hugo will have a big part to play.

i am wondering if it's down to these 2 guys, who would you rather have and why? 2 guys who are not the most popular picks among fans but look quite interesting...

Ange Postecoglou and Arne Slot
The more I've looked into them, I'd take either tbh. It needs to be said though that both will need time to put their stamp on things. If we go for a progressive project type coach they should be given 2 full Summer windows minimum regardless of how things are on the pitch. Every manager on the "list" plays a certain way and that'll take time to put into practice.

And if that's the case shame on them for not showing personal pride, or a "we'll show them" attitude prior to Conte going. It's the minimum I expect from any pro player regardless of who they are playing for.

If he was Brighton’s number one then you know you are on to a winner with how they operate.
People talk glibly about “philosophies” in football but Brighton has one. They have a way of playing that is led by deep data analysis, (crucially) understood by the Chairman and Managing Director, and implemented throughout the club.

This is why Brighton can so seamlessly replace players and managers they sell. They buy players who fit into an established style of play and managers who can implement and develop that style.

It’s also why Potter is struggling at Chelsea where there is not a deeply embedded and coherent style of play.

Just hiring another manager who has done well at another club will not be sufficient, especially if we were to hire a manager like De Zerbi or Frank who succeed be cause they are backed by clubs fully aligned to one way of playing.

Levy’s failure in these past few years is not just that he has appointed the wrong manager but that he has never tried to create an identity for the club and an embedded culture and style that could allow the club to succeed.

We need more than just a new manager.

Levy seemed to grope his way towards the right answer when he talked about the club’s DNA which would mean progressive, attack minded, flowing football. But he then appointed managers that are the antithesis of this.

To be fair its hard to have a 'we'll show them' attitude when you're seemingly told not to have the ball

Have we had ITK it might be down to these 2 guys or are you saying these are your favourite 2?

If it is down to those 2 i'd be bloody happy with that because it means we actually have an aligned vision because they both play similar attractive football and I'd be more than willing to give both plenty of time to implement that with us.

This is something that the whole club, including the fanbase, needs to accept if we go down a 'project' route (which we should).

It won't happen of course because...football...but I agree at least two full seasons as a minimum before any whinging is allowed

Plus he's Greek. Never trust a Greek.
