Matt Law (who's been good for Spurs stuff)

Says list is

Enrique
Tuchel
Poch
De Zerbi
Big Ange
Glasner
Frank

Probably in that order
Club have learnt nothing then.

Thats a bunch of names with the bigger names at the top, the smaller names being coaches who are right in front of us.

Enrique and Tuchel are the big names.
Poch the obvious choice.
De Zerbi, Frank and Ange on these shores.
Glasner we played against.

All play different styles.

Fucking joke

First time in I dont know how long where I feel the non-Spurs journos are really putting the pressure on Levy and can see what majority of us have seen for years.

One wonders if this is where Vivienne starts to exert some influence in proceedings....

Dear lord I genuinely thought you meant Lampard until I saw the picture a few posts below clarifying it as Thomas Frank. Although with this fetish for ex Chelsea who knows?

This is a very impressive record tbf

Exactly this, Tuchel is probably even more "in-demand" than Conte was when we got him. There's not really a better knock out competition manager available. If Tuchel didn't manage at Chelsea, we'd all have some reservations with him working with Levy but know we'd take the risk. He's won over 60% of his matches at every club besides Mainz, was probably the best of the latest bunch of managers with PSG, and played youth, attacking, high-press at Dortmund. He's played a number of different formations, from 3 at the back to 4231.

I would certainly be upset if we didn't at least have a conversation or sound it out with him. Totally understand if he didn't want to come or if we passed as a learning lesson from our past couple managers and if it's just not a right fit, but from a tactic and play perspective, he's what most of us list in our wants.

blah blah blah. levy will fuck up whoever comes in so as ridiculous as it sounds if it's the only way for levy to take responsibility for the shitshow he's created, it has to be levy as manager. needs to be a mechanism for change rather than just another spin of the same old cycle.

I think I am starting to understand Levy's long-term plan here:

Every season, we get a new manager bounce.

Exactly this. Playing 3 at the back is not the issue, it’s the intent that you play it with.

Any popular formation can be as defensive or as attacking as the manager sets it up to be.

We played some of our best football under Poch with a back three. No one was complaining when finished with our highest points total using that formation.
So true! The 3-4-3 under Poch compared to under Conte is night and day in terms of intent and style.

The whole Chelsea thing is blown out of proportion and shouldnt bother anyone.

I like Tuchel, and his football is pragmatic but not boring and not cowardice which was something id aim at Contes style.

My main issue with Tuchel is, and its less about Tuchel and more about Levy is I just feel he and Levy will be at loggerheads sooner rather than later .

I really think Enrique would be another 18 months and out manager. Paratici was awful at appointing managers at Juve and doesn't show any signs of doing it well here either.

Short Term
Enrique - Attacking 433
Tuchel - Balanced 4231 or 3421, flexible with formations

Long Term
Poch - Attacking 4231 (capable of attacking 3421)
De Zerbi - Attacking 4231
Postecoglu - Attacking 433
Glasner - Defensive 343
Frank - Defensive 343 or 433

Glasner and Frank should be nowhere near the list as they don't fit with attacking football which Spurs should be playing and we should acknowledge short term options don't work for us which rules out Tuchel and Enrique. So that leaves:

Poch
De Zerbi
Postecoglu

As the 3 best options.
