If we drop points against West Ham with another dier performance this place will be in over drive.

Personally think he's gone if we fuck up Sunday.

It's crunch time...do something different to get this team playing or time to go.

He last won a knockout game in 2013.
So what are you trying to suggest? That he is deliberately throwing Champions league games because he doesn't care about it? Is that honestly what you are suggesting? By your logic we obviously don't care about any competition at all because we haven't won one in almost 15 years.

The thing is even though West Ham are shite and near the bottom of the table, you just know Moyes will get them bang up for it.
I have zero confidence that Conte will do the same.

I know he’s had a tough year with friends passing away, and illness, but I’m getting really sick and tired of watching interviews where the man getting paid 15million a year acts and comes across like he would rather be literally anywhere else, and as though we are holding him hostage here against his wishes.

I want a manager who I feel actually enjoys and wants to be here, not one who feels like he’s seeing out his contract waiting for a better offer.

I think he cares, he is just unable to cope with planning for multiple games in quick succession. And that’s when his heart is fully in it, and he has momentum. Right now, we’re getting the worst of all worlds. He’s moping, there’s no certainty about his future, there’s no fear factor around us like there was at the end of last season. It’s all gone off the boil. It needs ending, immediately.

Agreed; even taking the 15’m to one side, he’s working in an elite environment with world class athletes (and Dier) and he’s acting as though he’s working on the tills in sports direct.

I think the team are capable of better.
We know for a fact that they are, because we saw it last season. No idea why things went so wrong at the start of this season, but it’s pretty clear now that Conte has mentally checked out. The meltdown he had after the Burnley game last year showed that he actually gave a shit, and we responded to it. That passion is gone now. We’re a zombie team with a manger who is mentally not with them.

We are fifth in the league, last 16 of the champions league and fifth round of the FA cup, you think Levy is going to sack him now? I am talking about 5/6 loses in a row etc.

Don’t let the above cloud over our issues. We’re in poor form, sliding down the table (will be 7th or 8th if the teams below us win their games in hand). We’ve just forgot to turn up again in the Champions League after also forgetting to turn up against Leicester. We’re only going in one direction and that’s out of the cups and finishing mid table, outside of the European places. Levy will have a fit… Conte needs to go whilst we’ve still got chance to rescue our season.

people forget he won the title using the players from the previous regime. As soon as he built the squad around his style it fell to shit and Chelsea were rubbish
He also sold youngish Mo Salah and Nathan Ake

Edit: Salah loaned under Jose, with obligation to buy as Conte took over

Ha, we always say this sort of thing at this time of year. Within a few weeks we'll be out of both cups and fighting for Europa Conference :D

Regardless of whether Conte is our best long term option or not, players normally perform a lot worse if the manager’s future is up in the air. So Levy should have either backed him (on the condition that Conte commits) or sacked him in January IMO.

So far Conte will not commit to staying beyond the summer, and the uncertainty is not helpful. Personally I have come to the conclusion that he's not a good fit for our club and it would be better if we don't wait till the summer. I would not be surprised to find that Levy's already lining up his replacement.

What gripes me is that we still can not only salvage this season, but we can make it a fantastic one if we could all pull in the same direction.

CL tie very much in the balance, a solid chance of FA Cup glory with so many of our contemporaries falling by the wayside and let's be honest, still in the hunt for 4th spot but what will be unforgivable is if we just let this season fizzle out to fuck all with what seems to be the worst kept secret now in Conte seemingly having his heart set on returning to Italy and the board happy to let him see the rest of his contract out without having to pay him up.

Coming to the stark conclusion that Conte won't be here next year so I fail to see now how us meandering through is going to help our cause. I still feel very much for Conte and the shitty circumstances he's had to endure in recent months but it could well be that we need to pull that sticking plaster off to save this season.

I think the other thing to take into account is how poorly we were performing before the world cup too. I mean we were collecting points in spite of some really turgid performances. It feels like we have been on this downward trajectory all season and the results have started to catch up with us.

He's here until the summer at least whatever happens.

He won't be sacked or walk.

Fully believe he'll walk away in the summer though.

Agreed. The best part of this season has been a really ugly watch.

Frank, Lopetigue, Emery, De Zebri all getting far, far more from their significantly inferior squads then our “born winner” on his kings ransom.

If Conte really wants to leave releasing him from his contract before the end of the season could hardly count as an act of maliciousness. He would be allowed to return home and spend time with his family as well as being financially remunerated. It could even be seen as an act of kindness.

Holding him to his contract because we don’t want to pay him off or are worried about the optics or whatever is a harder line to take and arguably less compassionate.

Of course if he’s truly committed and wants to stay, that’s a different matter.

All very well said.

I think in the aftermath of a bad result/performance we can all (very much including me) forget the human element of all of this and it's clear Conte is having a very bad time personally at the moment.

It's also more than fair to say that he's not the only one to blame.

Some of the players aren't pulling their weight, and some simply aren't good enough.

I think Paratici is looking more and more like a charlatan every window, and we all know the issues with Levy. I want him gone as well and people need to stop thinking it's one or the other.

But all that being said...Conte is now an active detriment to our season.

He insists on playing a system that he doesn't have the players to use. He doesn't influence matches when they start going wrong. And they now go wrong significantly more than they go right. Arguably our only really good performance this season came when he wasn't on the sidelines.

Getting rid of Conte won't fix everything...of course it won't.

But continuing the way we are for another few months shouldn't be considered as an option.

He needs to go...now.
