Watch conte playing exactly the same starting 11 and formation in return leg.
And then we start panicking in 80th min.

No excuses anymore, 17mio per year coach FFS.

Two bang average teams there, "only" 1-0 gives us hope but you can't be confident of our chances.

This is another game where what plays out contributes to why I have little sympathy for Conte re. giving him the benefit of the doubt. Our play is just so basic and lacking in quality and any direction or ethos. In tight games with the ball in the oppositions half we have next to no attacking/possession structures and idea as to how we go about our work. We are completely unable to sustain real pressure in the final third. We'll shuffle it about until going wide and swinging in a hopeful cross, or hope for a corner, and, whether they're technically fouls against us or not, I'm starting to really dislike our propensity to try and stop and milk freekicks instead of concentrating on playing footy and moving the ball.

Basic. Basic. Basic.

I'm not sure Kane and Son can play together now that Son can't run any longer.

Soft goal against, nothing created going forward.

Don’t think we’ve played that badly away at the San Siro, Sarr was quite good. It’s just fucking giving away that goal early on that could cost us in the end. Had we come away with nil nil playing like that then most would have been happy but it’s that fucking defending again.

I dont get why all our attackers are playing with their backs to goal, trying to hold the ball up.
Because we have no creative players like an Eriksen or prime Dele to intelligently ping the balls up. Everything here are through the flanks through the flanks, making us so predictable and empty in the middle.

Yep agree with that. Kane was great, woefully alone up top. Sonny non existent & Kulu still struggling to find his form
Yeah he put on a bit of a masterclass in the dark arts of isolated centre forward play. Won so many clever free kicks and kept possession when he had zero right to. Didn't offer much in front of goal but was still one of our best players tonight.

If Conte continues to play Son the way he is at the moment I don’t see Son getting back to his best

We've done alright still being in the tie. With all the injuries, distinct lack of talent, and talented players being horribly off form, one down going into the 2nd leg ain't bad. That said, Milan are poor, and they'll be more than happy to have a lead.

Thought Sarr and Skipp were excellent.

Conte aint the answer to what ever the question is, cant see him motivating this lot for 90 minutes attacking football ,we will be 60 mins in and the match will have passed him by ,I would take Jesse March as an interim
