Just want to pop in after watching utd play earlier and say how happy I am to have this man in our midfield.

Completely transformed our play from the moment he came in, his calmness on the ball is so natural.

Hes exactly what they lack in midfield.

He’s totally undroppable in my opinion, our best CM by an absolute mile. We are insanely lucky to have him and the money we paid for him is absolutely hilarious
And to think Villa were linked to him for weeks for £25m then out of the blue Donny P snapped him up.
Him and Kulu are probably two of the best signings we’ve made in years in terms of hitting the ground running with immediate effect, there’s an awful lot of players out there that could learn from them.

Since the Man City game where Kulu and Bentancur became more regular starters for us we’ve got 41 points from a possible 51. They completely changed our team. In the same amount of PL games Liverpool picked up 45 and that was during what everyone considered to be a juggernaut charging towards the title type run of form for them. City have picked up 40 in the same period. I’m hoping the signing of Bissouma, Lenglet and Perisic will help elevate us further

One of my favorite players to watch but not when he's as ineffective as he was today. Still needs to do better with keeping possession and dictating play.

I think it’s hard to judge our midfield today, they were outnumbered so often but stuck at it. I actually though he did a lot of unglamorous stuff well today.

Think the whole team was dealt a shit hand with the tactical domination of the first hour. Hard to judge the players’ quality then. But the character the whole game and the quality after Conte’s switch was much better. He and Højbjerg in particular getting man marked in possession and getting outnumbered 4 to 2 out of it made their jobs nearly impossible until Conte adjusted.

Outnumbered in midfield, few midfielders exist like Modric and Dembele who can do well in that situation, especially against Kante and Tuchel's system that regulary gives trouble to City's midfield.

I think Bissouma will make a huge difference when he's up to speed. He was often a one-man wrecking crew for Brighton and dominated games. Way more mobile than Hojbjerg.

Look at how he surrendered possession to Havertz before fouling him. It wasn't to do with great pressure, he just wasn't aware of his surroundings and tried to be too clever on the ball. PEH also struggled but towards in the end the game, founds ways to be effective with his passing and positioning.

Agree, he can solo dominate opposing midfield. Hopefully gets fully fit soon.

Very difficult when you're outnumbered on a day as hot as today. That's some serious hard work going on in there.

Sounds good but honestly it's very rare that happens against world class opposition and teams. If there's an overload normally it's telling.

I love him though and think he's going to be the dogs... for us

Im not sure he fouled Havertz. In real time it looked like it but the angle from our goal showed he definitely toe poked the ball before taking Havertz out. He got more of Havertz than ball for sure but did get to the ball first. In any case, it wasnt given, get over it and play on Chelsea.

Didn't have a good game, but who did....

He was one of the few players who could hold onto the ball at times, and turn his man so we could press forward.

I think his athleticism will be really helpful in this formation.

I like him a lot but a few of his worst performances have come in big games - he was also quite poor in the 3-2 loss to United.

Great option to have and can be brilliant at times, but I wonder if Bissouma might be better suited to games vs the toughest teams in the league as he offers a bit more athleticism and bite.
