And then you watch the highlights and see Højbjerg play a fantastic forward pass to release Royal who pulls it back for Kulusevski to curl it onto the far corner. Our CM’s play a lot of nice football and don’t get the credit they deserve. The team goal that won the game in injury time away at Man City last season … there was a lot of Højbjerg and Bentancur passes in that move. Bentancur and Højbjerg have formed a formidable partnership that will make it hard for the very talented Bissouma and Skipp to get a starting place.
Yeah it's funny how it works sometimes.

I've definitely been critical of Hojbjerg before as he can be a bit clunky and lacks the finesse of other midfielders, but he keeps popping up with great passes and nicking the odd goal.

Feel like the attacking side of his game can go under the radar sometimes and gets taken for granted cos he's not the most smooth or consistent passer yet over the course of a season he's actually up there with the best CMs in the league in terms of goals, assists, chance creation, etc.

His problem is he’s not quick and sharp with his decision making like bentancur it’s why u see him give away the ball so much with simple 5 yard passes because he gets pressured but when he’s got time and space he can play a perfect 30 yard pass, he’s frustrating at times but very effective.

Doesn't really matter where he fits tbh. He can play several positions but it's all about building a squad. I've said it before but we need to start looking at it the same way teams like City do. When they sign a player, they don't worry about where the player will fit, they only care about having a strong squad. It's a lovely headache for Conte to have where he has huge competition for his starting XI. Whoever impresses most in training will play. Our bench is starting to look very strong, and that's exactly what we needed as in previous season, having the likes of Winks etc as options off the bench is less than inspiring.
Great post spot on.

Harry hasn’t conceded when in goal, has he?
Not in open play. Just doesn't matter what end he is at, free kicks are not his thing.

I would be very surprised to see Zaniolo as a wing back option unless necessary. I think he would provide depth further forward and could be the kind of player needed when teams sit back funnily enough like Roma did against us.

He will play where Kulu does.

Richarlison seldom played on the right for Everton with almost equal games / time played on the left (Son) or up the middle (Kane). At Roma he played a similar role to Kulu and was particularly good in the EL with two goals and three assists in seven starts. But he can play deeper, and the video shows quite ofter he will pick the ball up from central midfield.

This is why Conte wants him adaptable, quick, tricky and links up play well.

If he signs then this will give Conte quality options in almost every position, and a squad strength that we have to go back to the days of Burkinshaw to see.

Excellent article here:

OK I'm a tad confused now I don't know anything about this lad I have deliberately not watched any vids comps of him but...
I just caved and watched that last one and I thought he was.....
A fat old bloke with a wooden leg who had the general movement of a drugged up sloth ? on a bad day and smelled of old lady wee and soot and we only wanted him because his mums fit or something similar.
Not sure who that vid is of but surely there is some kind of mistake. ??

He plays with such force in his runs and deceleration. I seriously feel for his knees from those impact...

But I think can see Conte's reasons for wanting him. Him and Kulu will be such fantastic wild cards for us on their days. Is actually quite exciting.

Deki is hardly a wildcard, he’s mainstream for Conte’s approach. Every day is a Deki day…

This potential transfer confuses me in many ways; is he good, is he bad, is his knees stronger or weaker, is he close to signing with us or is he definitely staying o_O

Not happening. Move on and TBH bullet dodged in my opinion. He struggles with injury and firm in Italy . Can’t see him loving the cold wet weather here

I don’t understand how him playing in a friendly means a deal won’t happen? Not close? Sure but not a complete right off.
We all know Roma are happy to keep him, they will sell if we meet the price.
