Yh nice comparison of players in different seasons and different positions.....
But just as relevant to the post you replied to originally (where another poster compared Maddison to Zaniolo as being underwhelming).

Think the only way I would take Zaniolo is if we couldn't get Maddison, and then it would be on loan with an option to buy with N'Dombele going the other way on loan with an option to buy.

So you wouldn’t take him? Because there’s no fecking way Mourinho wants Ndombele.

That’s the thing, if we can’t get the likes of Paqueta, SMS, Szoboszlai, Maddison or whoever else we are looking at then sure I’d be relatively happy for a loan with option say. But at this point It just feels underwhelming.

Agreed. Very underwhelming and a risky transfer to boot.

Feels like the kind of one to go through with our Italian links too.

There’s an interesting piece by a doctor on Zaniolo and his injuries in relation to a potential move to Juventus. He acknowledges Zaniolo is a talented player but would require an all singing all dancing medical which would include multiple MRI’s and risk assessments. He adds the likelihood of a 2nd ACL tear is 15-20% but in Zaniolo’s case it would be a potential 3rd injury.

I dont know much about him. A few years back he was heralded as a wonderkid. Clearly two massive ACL injuries since then but as I understand it professional athletes in (less) contact sports (i.e. not NFL) can fully recover. Is the issue injuries? Nothing major for a couple of years since he returned from his last ACL surgery - niggly things like calf problems and muscle fatigue but nothing concerning? Not sure I buy the not suited to the EPL bit? Are people worried the EPL is more physical and he will injure his knees again? That aside it looks like he can handle himself. 6'3" and seems to hold players off well. Looks a lot like Kulusevski to me, which sounds pretty ideal?

Could be the next Alberto Aquilani with his quality on the treatment table

I'd like to think this will be a loan with an option because it clearly has alot of risks attached to it with his injury record.

As always with us, i'm sure any deal struck will have the cards stacked in our favour.

He's not really a creative midfielder, is he?

Swear he's more of a forward.
