Diaz and Amrabat in would be a hugely successful window imo
I don't think it would because it doesn't cover the at 3 positions that we are lead to believe that AC wanted covered and for that reason I don't see how you could call it successful and also not to sure Amrabat is an upgrade on what we have but would loved to be proved wrong.

Stage 1: We'll say nothing is going to happen in January.

Stage 2: We'll say that maybe some deals will happen in January, but that we should do nothing.

Stage 3: We'll say maybe there is a player we should sign, but there is nothing we can do.

Stage 4: We'll say maybe there was something we could have done, but its too late now.

That was quick

They were first mentioned being in for him at the start of the window so not really.

Stage 5: We'll say the summer was always going to be the priority, but it's too early now.

Now we know why Mendes was holding up the deal. He is from their academy, and is Spanish, so totally understand why he would rather go there than come to us.

I understand that most planning will be going towards the summer window and it makes complete sense, but with that being the case then I wonder why Conte was asked to make his observations and assessments on the squad prior to this window and not take the whole season if we weren't really planning on making some bigger moves. We've read that Conte understands the summer position etc., but it's going to make his job harder than necessary by having unwanted players still in the building.

The plan seems clear enough - get unwanted players out first to free up spaces and wages, and I've no doubt it'll happen this time around, but the trouble is we can't make decisions for other clubs to take those players so it's almost a catch 22.

The one thing I think we'd all like to see is not necessarily huge moves being made, or huge sums being spent, just a bit of urgency for once. Trouble is, one thing we're not privy to is how urgent things are looking behind the scenes. What 'seems' to be coming out though seems to be more of the same that we're all used to.

Hitchen hated this window for a reason, and that's probably the biggest ITK we've ever had directly from the club.

Mate, I don't know how anyone can't realize this... Fabrizio for example, gets a bit right, but there is no fucking way he knows about every team's transfers. Just impossible. But apparently he's gospel
Cant speak for others who follow Fabrizio but i do so more the fact that he's become a main aggregator, some of which is his own, much of which is not, and he often tags as much...

And same way a lot of ITK doesnt materialize a lot of the transfers he mentions dont materialize either, but he's managed to put himself up there as a go-to for anyone who just wants to get a quick summary of the main european deals.
