They did well, but I think it's imperative we find an alternative (and quickly) to them having to soak up so much pressure - we saw last season how that approach turned them into nervous wrecks.

100% agree - the best defenders in the world will make mistakes if they are camped in their own half for the whole game

Can't say about anywhere else but in my house there was a muted booing and faint yay, then mostly just mutters of, if you were worth £150m you'd have got that in, yotur have reached that ball, you'd think a player trying to get some would try a bit fucking harder.

?

To be fair to Kane he’s trying to convince us that he ISN’T worth £150m…

I am pleased that we have 6 points from two games but I'm not so one sided to suggest we deserved to win today just because we did.

This week's performance was a different performance from last week's performance. We were worthy of of the win last week. We were much more composed and assured in our all round play. There were times in the first 15 mins and last 5 mins last week when we were hanging on and overran, but held out. For the most part we more than held our own

Compare that with today, we were frequently beaten to the ball in the midfield, we were turned inside out this way and that, and only a combination of last ditch defending and poor finishing let us off the hook today. We worked hard today I have no doubt about that but too often we were out muscled and sliced open and consistently so today, that did not happen last week. So we did ot hold our own, we clung on frequently and got away with it.

We did have chances today but they were created from rare counter attacks and the occasional set piece. To suggest we deserved the 3 point today would be biased beyond belief.

Stating that we did not concede and we scored hence we won is a bare statement of fact that is unarguably, it either did happen or it did, and it this case it did.

Whether a team deserves to win or not is never a statement of fact, that is always matter of opinion and that is usually given on the balance of play. In that instance and based on what I saw I cannot say in all seriousness that we deserved it but I'm happy we won, as we all are as we are fans of the same side.
Well rounded response.

Think he’d be the opposite of a money ball signing, he’s massively over rated and would cost a fortune.
Surely moneyball is based around statistics? He’s the opposite of moneyball if that’s the case

Did anybody else notice how far out of the box the goalkeeper kept hold of the ball before kicking it down field? At least twice.

I swear this happens all the time. I honestly can't remember watching a match where I haven't questioned the same thing.

I can only assume the linesmen are already on their way up the pitch when it happens.

Good win. Had to soak up more than we’d like but the fact we didn’t concede feels like a difference to last season.

Desperately need a different front three setup, Moura, Bergwijn and Son just doesn’t work that well. All willing runners and produce flashes of individual brilliance, but they all share the same weaknesses. Mainly the inability to keep hold of the ball with sure footed touches. It leads to us continually coughing up possession cheaply.

I don't want him either.

But when I look at what impact he had upon today's proceedings, and compare it to the impact Bergwijn or Moura had, its night and day, and I can understand IF there's genuine interested.
Thought SB had some great moments and might not be the highlights package Traori had, he was just as dangerous.

I didn't see the game and there's alot of disenchantment with the performance in here but I read the BBC report and they reckon the Wolves keeper kept them in the game with four superb saves in the second half.
Were they lying?

Agree with those that don’t think we were that awful, our chances were better than theirs and I’d be slightly disappointed we didn’t take another one. I can’t see us playing a different style as we’ve basically got the same players as last year. Bergwijn & Lucas are just not that level to be consistent enough. Well actually…Bergwijn is pretty consistent, that’s his issue. Defence was decent and Dele Alli another performance where he busted his nut.

Few more signings still required obviously.

Pretty sure Dele busted a gut, I hope he didn’t bust his nut. ??

Yes. And we weren't lucky to win. The other poster still hasn't told me why we were supposedly lucky and I'm guessing you won't be able to either.
Because we were outplayed for most of the game and had they been a bit more clinical in finishing should have had at least 2 goals. Don't tell me you thought we were the better side. Don't get me wrong I like any supporter will take the win it's another 3 points but we were lucky to hold on and play like that wont win us many games in the season.

Having seen the 1st two matches I don't think we can expect to get on the front foot when playing Skipp and PEH together. For all their defensive conscientiousness they lack the ability to hold the ball and progress it up the pitch.
It's great that Skipp is homegrown and had a very good Championship season last year but I'm not convinced he is a 1st team starter yet. Keen to hear others views?
I think they can work but the combo with Moura and Dele is more problematical for controlling possession. Those four together don’t look that great in possession. Thought once Moura went off we saw PEH take up much better positions.
