It’s not wrong, though. Although football is a team game, his responsibility to the team is scoring goals. He’s drawn blanks in two League Cup finals, had an absolute no show in the Champions League final and couldn’t score in 120 minutes against Dinamo when we were eliminated.

People make out he has dragged us on his back for the entirety of his time in the first team. The truth is that before 2020, he was playing in some excellent football teams with genuine quality throughout the squad. Can you honestly tell me one single moment where Kane has shone in a significant cup game?

I’m not discrediting what Kane has done here. Not one bit. But to say he holds no responsibility for him lacking any silverware to his name is complete and utter bollocks.
Mate we lost 1-0 to the best team in the country by a 82nd minute winner in the LC final this year, clearly not the strikers fault

But that’s part of my point. Those are the types of games where the Messi’s and Ronaldo’s stand up. When the team is on the back foot, they’ll produce a moment of absolute magic when it really matters. Kane doesn’t do that.

It’s that kind of attitude that means we won’t compete. City are our rivals, a couple of bad seasons doesn’t change the fact that if we want to be competing at the top of the division we are going to be in direct competition for top four spaces and trophies with them. We should never have rolled over and had our tummies tickled for Walker like we did. That sent out the completely wrong signals.

Selling Kane within England would be a massive mistake imo.

Whilst I still don't think City are a direct rival (due to how shit we are right now) I do understand what you're trying to day. I just don't completely agree with the state of affairs right now. We're not at City's level, not even the level beneath them where United, Leicester and Chelsea are at. We're not far from those 3 but still need a lot of work. I respect your decision but I can't agree with it. I won't begrudge Harry going to City.

The board, the new coach, Kane, Son, Hugo, PEH need to get into a room with each and have a very very frank conversation about which players they feel are letting the club down and are not putting it in.

We did this at my last club I was coaching at as we already had an idea on who wasn't pulling their weight but it allowed us to really get these players on side and show to them that we are setting a standard. Bit by bit you can get other players on the right side and get rid of those that have had their time.

But looking at the past few months, PEH and particularly Son have put in some atrocious performances (Kane's looked sluggish and ineffective lately too).I don't think that's because they're bad players, I think it's because they're shattered. But I don't see how they can 'set standards' without it looking hollow and hypocritical.

The other players don't need to know about this and they've given far more than the others.

I actually am in disbelief that some people think that Kane has failed us

The guy will move to City and literally score more than 40 goals a season if he stays fit.
Aguero only ever managed 33 as his highest in all competitions so kane would do well to beat that.

It's gutting that it has come to this but his leaving will give us a fresh start. These players are completely burned out at Spurs, the current squad will simply never get over the line and deliver trophies. We've been going backwards consistently for four seasons now and I don't think the decline will stop until we've had the painful rebuild that has been necessary for some time now.

The proceeds of Kane's sale will allow us to ship out the ten or so players that need to go even if they don't fetch prices that Levy would otherwise deem reasonable while still giving us all of the funds we need to bring in the next generation. Next season will be full of growing pains but if we can get the recruitment right there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.

What an absolute fucking travesty that we wasted the best striker in the world produced by our own academy, but it's time for the reckoning now. That's just the reality of how the past few years have played out.

We never will be if we keep selling them our players as soon as the hitch up their skirt and bat their eyelids at them.

Look at City’s response to us wanting Sancho as part of the deal. They see us as a rival. You don’t have to be on the same level to be a rival, you just have to recognise that you’re fighting for the same things. Short term or long term.

But surely part of the problem is that then you get players who are treated differently and there's no meritocracy. Who deserved to come off today, Son or Bergwijn? Yet Son is considered undroppable and has been run into the ground because of it.

Kane pretty much gets 20+ on his own now.

You really don't think he could do it with KDB, Foden, Mahrez, Gundogan, etc assisting him? Have you seen the amount of chances City creates every game?

This really is Levy's last chance to dance but history tells us that having money to spend at Spurs means fuck all - Levy will find a way to spunk the dough on another load of toilet paper.
