I think actually over the last couple of games PEH has been a bit under par. Certainly today he was running after shadows. Not necessarily his fault as sissoko adds very little....

Most likely fatigue as we played within ourselves against Palace, I assume because we had Liverpool a few days later then today we didn’t turn up.

If we’re insistent on playing a winning formula in counter attacking football then to maintain this we can rest players but under no circumstances should be changing the formation as it kills us.

The life of a spurs fan summed up this week.
Hope followed by a strong dose of realism.

Hard to complain about the result.

What nerves me is that our gameplan goes out of the window if we go behind. I can't see that changing sadly. Still feel we are going to fight for top 4, but we'll desperately need points over the next few weeks.

All comes to Aurier. Don’t give that away and 0-0 at HT. utter brainless muppet

I see you got a couple of disagrees there. I can only think they are for the fact that the players didn’t look up for it from the start. I do agree that the pen most definitely added to that slump

I’m not defending the performance today, because it was indefensible.

But this really is a game of fine margins. So many sliding door, if only moments in the last 3 games

Palace - that ridiculous save in the 92nd minute from the Dier free kick. 6 days later the same goalie lets in 7 against who else, but Liverpool

Liverpool - Kane scores that header 99 times out of 100, to say nothing of Bergwijn or that double deflection in the first half, or that stupid set piece conceded in the 90th min from which they, of course score.

Leicester - Aurier, shit for brains......enough said.

You make your own luck. We don’t. Ever. You’d have though having got away with Maddison goal there would be a reaction, which was lucky for us in itself. Instead we go to shit.

That was painful to watch I think they could have had the Xmas party last night and played better

Gonna have to avoid the Jose thread. I can see this all being blamed on his negative tactics, but failing to realise that's not the reason we couldn't make simple passes or move into space.
If anyone still cannot see how limited some of our players are, then there is no point arguing with them anymore.

Yeah, as bad as we were (really bad) we were about to head into HT level where we could've regrouped etc. Penalty then ruined it. Not taking away from the fact we were still very bad.

I don't get this, we were just as bad today with him on the pitch as we were without him. He quite simply doesn't have the legs to play this style.

But NDombele is the ONLY one with the guile to move the ball fast and forward between the lines in our CM. Without him, it’s shite sideways boring slow slack rubbish

Don't worry everyone - we were the better team today according to Jose so it's all good.

“Aurier assisted Vardy for the first goal and our own player Alderweireld scored their second. They couldn’t have won without our help. We were clearly the better team and the better team lost.”

So who else can do what Kane does. The Ndombole knock rendered us ineffective. Lo Celso was poor. The whole team was poor today. The Liverpool game must have screwed us over mentally
No one can seemingly do what Kane does, but that's not the point is it? The point is we are playing a brand of football that doesn't lend itself to any creativity, bar some moments of magic from Kane - without him on form or unavailable, then you have a system that is designed to defend and hope we can create chances that we can score from, which are limited as it is. This isn't about mentality, at least not through losing a match we could have one against a Liverpool side who are clearly a level above everyone else. The mentality, or lack of comes from sitting deep and absorbing a lot of pressure to in turn try and counter and score. In essence, we are looking to play a style that can be easily nullified.

We have enough creative players in that squad who can play with flair and creativity, but our football is bypassing those options. We have enough fullbacks who can get down the flanks and deliver, so why aren't they? Were Leicester that good today they nullified every option we had? No, they only had to stop the counter and then we were lost. I've said it before, you can't keep playing a system that can not adapt to its player's strengths. Jose is far too narrow-minded when it comes to utilising the players he has. I've not seen enough times when we have played with any level of dominance in a game. Btw It was Lo Celso who went off injured, not N'Dombele.

Worst since the Everton game, by a distance. Maybe even worse than that. There's no rational explanation for why every player on that pitch were so poor, it was just diabolical from start to finish.

One thing Spurs have never been good at is putting pressure on opponents when chasing a late goal. Today's effort in that regard was absolutely pathetic.

Brendan Roger still carries the trait of the detestable face from his scouser days with that smirks towards the end of the game. So wanna punch him.

So.. anyone willing to admit that our style of play and tactics are poor yet?

I said it weeks ago this style of play doesn’t win league titles and some of the players we have starting for us won’t win us league titles either. Time to wake up people

If that is a direct quote he needs to stop with this “better team” rubbish.
