Good for Gio then. He is a fan of Tanguy, I think he was sad because he was not present.

So was I, but gio came in and did his job well, I think an important moment game in his attempt to get back to his best. Very needed during this Christmas period.

I couldn't see the Match. How was Gio? A neighbor told me that his match was terrifying, is it true?

Probably our worst player on the day, but that says more about the organisation of the rest of the team and how well they played than a particular shocker from him TBH.

Can I also say that rip-off of the Firmino song with the "Arsene Wenger's boyfriend's only four" repeated line in YET ANOTHER SONG is utterly dreadful. Heard it again today. Stop fucking singing it.

Maybe I have higher standards for no real reason but he needs to be doing more. I'm comparing him to Fernandes which probably isn't helping

Pretty average for the most part but he looked good on the occasions when he dropped deep(er) to get the ball and work it forward.

This was never really a game where he was going to flourish though. He's more suited to the games when we're on the front foot than when we're sitting deep and waiting to pounce.

But plays in the same position as GLC did today

In a completely different system where his responsibilities are different. Not only that but where has Fernandes been during the big games? Scored a penalty against us and was subbed at HT, did fuck all against Chelsea and fuck all against Arsenal and he's not putting in 1/10th of the defensive shift that Gio does when he plays. barely played all season in a team that is not often on the ball has a goal to his name against city and played a big part today in our 2nd against Arsenal.

Fair but we need another attacking player alongside kane and Son. Obviously not at their level but can cause problems to opposition

Good game today. Read the game well. Fair play to Mourinho to sub him off at the end. Not risking anything

First half was good, key in our second goal, our most involved player in front of the defence aside from Højbjerg (eye test and passing/ touches starts).

Second half he tired and his involvement does with that, but personally I thought it was an overall good showing.

Overall a decent performance and he certainly played his role in a solid 2-0 win, 6.5/10

0.5 bonus point for winding up a couple of Woolwich players so a 7/10 instead of 6.5/10

Today, but he's clearly a deeper player and more of an all-rounder. He did well today, and was key in the second goal. Nothing special but decent enough. Lo Celso didn't play well Thursday but has actually contributed much more than some are making out. At city he came on, gave us some zip and got a goal. At Chelsea he came on and gave us more control of the game, though he fluffed the chance he got. He hasn't been awful, far from it.

For what it's worth Fernandes was in terrible form for a few months, and has only really come back into form very recently. He scores a lot of penalties which somewhat clouds his actual performances.

Did his job well, worked his socks off closing down passing channels with discipline and recycled ball when we had possession.

I think that yellow killed him to a certain extent... we were struggling to get hold of possession or hold onto it and he wasn't able to put a tackle in really for the fear of a sending off.. was also struggling 60 mins onwards for fitness

I'm slightly worried in Lo Celso we have another Lamela i.e we believed we were signing a creative, attacking player to break down defenses but instead he is hard working and combative with the occasional bit of flair but limited end product.

Time will tell i suppose, I think he has more to him than Lamela and the style may be a byproduct of playing in this current Mourinho team.

If you saw his display for Argentina a couple of weeks ago you would have seen this is exactly what he is, he is a schemer/deep lying playmaker and needs the ball to go through him to really come alive.

Against Arsenal he played in a team who had 30% possesion and was clearly instructed to transition the ball quickly to the forwards so I'm not entirely sure what people expected of him?

I think we bought him to play in an industrious midfield adding a little class but maintaining the work rate. I think he will be fine when his fitness comes back. He seems good at breaking past the first man and releasing the ball. Hope we can keep working him back into fitness as the season goes on.

I'd agree we might have a different type of player to who we thought we were signing, but as long as he can sort out his little niggling injuries I'd happily have another Lamela-type player in our squad. Fighters are always needed.

He was ok, more good than bad. I wish he would use his right foot for passing, he is too predictable sometimes and scouting reports will show he relies on his left at all times. Needs to stay healthy to get into proper form.
