Just back from the match. I wish I could say we were hard done by, but the truth is we were comprehensively outplayed. They were quicker, stronger, sharper, and miles better technically.

Having said that, at 1-0 you are always in the game and if Gazza had not lost the plot we may still have been able to rescue something.

Son then topped it off by a stupid act. It was right in front of me and as soon as I saw it I knew he was off with VAR potentially looking at it.

Despite everything that’s been said about Eriksen we were better with him on the pitch, simply because we had somebody in midfield we could feed the ball to who could receive it.

Absolutely and it starts at the top at every club. Unless they strive and leave no stone unturned, they can hardly demand it from anyone underneath them.

This isn't a rant at DL etc but just the way it is. If he wants to change that he has to srsly back Jose in multiple windows. If not, his steady hand on the wheel will see continued advancement and we'll be good as we have been but unable to crest this almighty hill we face as a club.

We'll just have to wait and see.

It is so infuriating to know where the problem stood. Ndombele alongside a tough tackling DM and we would have won that game.

It's early days under Jose. He himself has said he hasn't really had a chance to coach the players. I'll give him till next season. On a positive note N'Dombele looked wicked good.
On that positive note, Happy Christmas everyone. Only four days to Boxing Day!

Ndombele always looks wicked good, the lad needs to start every single game when he's available. He's quite literally our best player, or at least our best midfielder by a long long distance (until lo Celso gets more game time anyway)

Yet another insipid display from the usual suspects. Dele, Son, Moura, Dier, Sissoko, Aurier, and yes... Kane too.

All of them lack drive, focus and tenacity. It's impossible to get anything out of a game when you have a set of players that make tons of mistakes (Aurier. Dier), are weak on the ball (Dele, Aurier, Son), lack discipline and focus (Sissoko, Aurier, Son). Act childish and petulantly and lack leadership (Kane and many of the others).

Jose must know by now that this lot should not be played together. It's criminal for him not to kick the tires on Ndombele, Lo Celso, Skippy, Foyth, Parrot, Sess Winks, and consider bringing Eriksen back into the fray. Also it's time to consider Jan options that can immediately improve the team in two key areas; DM and RB.

Lastly, i sincerely hope this isn't the best Jose has to offer. As all I've seen so far is predictable, prosaic and rigid. I can't see how it's difficult for an opposing manager to counter his tactics as they are the same every week. That must be very easy to prepare for. Nothing unpredictable or innovative so far from Jose. I do truly hope this isn't reflective of his new way of playing. As it's old and illsuited to the cretins he has to work with.

This is my fear also, club has been smeared but if no evidence emerges what then?

Hopefully some proof will turn up because racism is shit and must be stopped.
I'm not sure we should be hoping evidence turns up, I think it's better to hope that rudigar made a misjudgment and no racism was present.

If it does show up then the individual should be shown the full force of justice.

wish I went for the bloke joking about it. Went for him before. Feel ashamed tbh. Not felt like this for along time.

chelsea of all teams
I remember years ago - probably 30 odd, hearing some old bloke shouting something racist on the terraces and naively being surprised because I didn't think that Spurs fans were like that. That clearly was very naive.

I agree with that re Eriksen though I don't think he was that effective it did give us a bit more control than most of the others. It was a different looking control when Ndombele came on although he stayed relatively in the middle his control was fantastic.
Mourinhos system looked like it was supposed to create the counter but Chelsea was perfectly balanced and there was little room. A great player like NDombele could open it up but he was coming off the injury but he showed what a classy player he is

Just got back from cinema and watched the game. What the fuck was that defending for the first goal? Actually showing him onto his right foot so he can shoot! Honestly if I didnt know better I'd say its fixed .How can a professional allow that to happen? Its like a snooker player ripping the felt. Fkin self imploding again against those tossers.

I just think the forward line are so disheartened by the lack of forward balls from the midfield. It's hard to look any good when you're picking up scraps and long balls because the midfield cant or wont pass the ball forwards

It's frustrating because we have so many forward thinking midfielders sitting on the bench.

The individual should be banned from football for life if it's true. No time for that shit in society, let alone at a fucking game of football which doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things.

I have to admit that I hadn't noticed too much til today (or perhaps didn't want this as an easy cop-out excuse), but I am starting to think the fitness of the players is a massive issue.

My suspicion is that it's a combination of tired legs / broken bodies from Poch's training regime and lack of rotations, put alongside a lack of care for Poch over the summer when things went sour and thus a lack of effort in preseason fitness training. Regardless of what it is, there is no doubt our energy levels, pressing, and overall movement is miles off what it was a couple years ago and is leading to all the problems we see on the pitch now.

I think the most striking instances of it today were around the 75th-90th minutes, where Danny Rose was forced to try and tug down Mason Mount as he sprinted past him...this is the same Mason Mount who had put in an unbelievable effort all afternoon and had to be more tired than the newly subbed-on Rose. Same thing happened minutes later with Kante speeding past Ndombele. I know that Rose/Ndombele have had their fitness issues this season, so perhaps not the best individual examples from our end, but overall our team is just outworked and looks off the pace the large majority of games we play this year. Even last week, Wolves were all over us for the better part of the match.

The only player today who looked capable of making lung bursting runs was Davinson.

Anyone else picked up on this?
Yep, Poch training regime was by all accounts extremely hard. Overtraining did for Dembele, Wanyama and led to many joint injuries within the squad. Without the reward of a trophy, it appears enthusiam has waned with some looking for a way out

This.....hence the hiring of a manager that likes more experienced players.

Has the game moved on though?

This is the same disjointed team we’ve ended up with every manager. We don’t but the players we need. We buy players we can do a deal on.
Of course and it won't change in fact levy takes great credit it getting managers like Jose along with a top class stadium paying top dollar prices to achieve square root of fuck all

Just on train home from game. Not sure what to say really - we were just so poor. What confuses me is that we had a whole week to work on tactics for this game but looked clueless from the outset. The front four seemed to have zero service.

If I was being generous we did like getting back into the game slightly before the son sending off.

I did think Sanchez played well and also Ndombele when he came on but I can’t think of many other positives. JM has big job to do.

Our entire squad seems to have lost pace and stamina in the past year. This isn't new.
