I just got back from the game, and I've heard many fans talking about how awful he was this afternoon, and I agree that his passing was very poor most of the time, but everything else about his game was fantastic. I've never seen him win the ball as much as he did today. He used his strength brilliantly, and kept the ball brilliantly as well. Just a shame his passing was so poor, but I think Huddlestone showed so much promise in today's game. We all know how good his passing can be, and if he implements that with the rest of the way he played today, he could become the midfielder we've been lacking for so long.

Oh, and Malbranque was fucking awesome for us today as well.

We watched two different games.

He strolled through the entire game. Huddlestone has a knack of marking that incredibly dangerous player called Empty Space. He backs off his man and doesn't tackle. Unfortunately for us, Zokora backs Empty Space too. He must be a world beater.

I thought Hudd had an absolute shocker. I found it very hard to watch him and Berbatov today. Two players who just didn't seem to want to be there.

personally i thought it was definitely one of, if not the worst performance ive seen from the hudd in a spurs shirt. too many flicks and attempts at playing killer passes which were never on.

what was more even more alarming though, was the fact that it was so apparent hudd and zoko cannot play together.

You most definetley were watching the wrong game today Flatters. Huddlestone was abysmal. He is NOT Premiership player class and NEVER will be. The longer we play him in our team, the longer we will be languishing at the bottom. He needs to be sold in January. He will be great in the Championship but he is below average for Premiership.

Huddlestone was very poor, and has been for a while. When the team is on song, and he's able to get time on the ball and spray passes around he can be useful, but he's simply too slow and ineffective in the vast majority of games.

Zokora at least covered a lot of ground today, I maintain that if he had a very good creative midfielder alongside him he could do a job for us, but we haven't got anyone at the club like that.

Steed was great today, I've given him stick recently but he tried his heart out.

1 word to describe Hudd today = Conference!!!!

My husband was so cross with his effort and ability that he ranted for the whole hour journey home!

Sorry Flatters but can't agree with that at all. His positioning was woeful his passing was worse and he rarely got near a Blackburn midfielder all game. He had a couple of good moments where he showed quick feet but then ruined that all by dawdling on the ball and getting dispossessed.

How he lasted the 90 mins is beyond me. I hope Ramos was watching and doesn't play him on Wednesday and just sends him away to get fit and work on his game. Not Premiership standard at the moment.

Maybe I should have just made a thread about how good Steed was then... :shifty:

I know you don't like him but he was easily our best player, especially in the 1st half.

I don't rate him but generally I give him his dues when he stands out, I just didn't see it today.

I felt Wipey was our best player in the first half, by a long way.

just to add to the mix - his corners were fucking awful. high long and far too 'flighty'. we need bale back so desparately.

The hudd was totally shit today. Some people have given 6/10 in the match ratings thread and i just can't see how. Maybe he was trying too hard to impress Ramos, because everytime he got the ball he seemed to needlessly give it away. I don't mind him trying the difficult balls over the top, as we don't look like breaking teams down any other way. But today he couldn't even seem to get simple sideways pass on target.

Agreed, the delivery was shocking. We had a lot of corners and free kicks as well and didn't really trouble them once other than the time when Keane took the quick corner to Steed.

Sadly true. I actually thought Zokora did well today but he often looked over-run because Huddlestone was so poor. Very disappointing but I think he may be a player for the reserves...or Southampton.
