Spurs fan supports Spurs captain shocker?
What Dillspur you were disagreeing that our whole plan was about countering?
It's what we did all game unlike Wolves build up play
Who was there to control the ball???
It was quickly out to Son,Moura and Dele
MarshmallowHmmmmn, I must've missed all those 'ecstatic' posts of yours....have u deleted them and just left the negative stuff?
I was far more relaxed with our defence than over the whole yearI genuinely thought we were solid at the back when defending crosses and set pieces. Or was that just me?
Yep. That Bill Nicholson fella. Absolute disaster as a manager.I don't know why top teams get ex-players back to manage them, it rarely, if ever, works. We tried it 3/4 times, all of them disastrous.

A general question - when was the last time we scored from a direct free kick?
I disagree that we troubled them on the break. For me, we weren't as quick or incisive (on the break) as we have been previously (under Jose) they always seemed to have players back in numbers, I'm honestly struggling to remember when we actually troubled them on the break.

Trippier?
Eriksen against Everton - last game of season?A general question - when was the last time we scored from a direct free kick?
Crikey, so sometime last season.

Everton home last season. The very last league game.
Amazing how just winning the game glosses over the performance so much for so many people on here.
We generally defended very well, were very well organised and extremely committed, but on the ball we were fucking terrible. Son and Alli were awful, Son was particularly terrible. We rarely troubled them on the break, Wolves always seemed to have defenders back in numbers whenever we broke. We hardly ever isolated them in 3 on 2 situations etc. Moura kept losing the ball trying to dribble round the whole team (great goal though). It was one way traffic most of the game. Sure, you could say our tactics were to defend deep and counter, but there is no excuse for our attack and midfield to be so so totally pathetic, we were gifting Wolves back the ball time and again, so there's no way this can be called a great performance..
They also played through our midfield far too easily, Wolves CM were technically on another level compared to our CM of Sissoko and Dier.
There's a lot of work to do and I'm excited about seeing what Mourinho can do with this squad with a couple of reinforcements, but anyone saying today was a great performance is just getting carried away with the final score line/result.
Wolves didn't really create that much. But let's look at all this as objectively as we can.
Wolves away is a very tough fixture. They're a good side who are very well drilled, and have a pumped up home crowd behind them.
We did defend well but we're never turning up today to dominante this game with pretty triangles and easy on the eye attacks.
Could we of been better on the ball? Of course. Could certain players played better? Like Son etc...undoubtedly.
But in these fixtures its not easy for everything to just click and the whole team purrs.
Wolves get after you. They're in your face scrapping for every second ball. Most of us knew we were in for a very tough afternoon and so it proved.
To come away with all three points is a massive achievement. When they scored we all feared the worst, most moaning at Mourinho for not making changes earlier.
But the team kept digging in and got the rewards for doing so.
It might not of been pretty but it was a real battling performance.
You need several of those every season because you're not going to play lovely stuff every week.
I'm more impressed by our determination and fight today than I have been for a long time.
