Hubby is a Liverpool fan and we have a strict rule that we don’t watch the game together (or talk about it) and simply look at result afterwards. We are doing pub lunch today to avoid it.
Only exception was champions league final where I went to WHL and he watched at home - although we have still never talked about that game. That’s the problem with two very passionate yet opposing fans getting married!
don't let him come near you tonight

Called this ages ago I think he’s vastly underrated. People take the piss out of him but he nearly won the league with Liverpool and got them playing incredible football, he did brilliantly at Swansea, he did incredibly at Celtic he’s a top top manager.

And he wouldn’t be having defenders slashing the ball anywhere like we saw today. We would build out properly. Personally think he would take the job if we offered it to him.

I think if we’d played Tuesday’s team and we’d still lost today but given a better account of ourselves we could have taken that.

I’ve always been Poch in and allow him the time to rebuild, but when he continues to play Eriksen and Rose it certainly tests your patience and loyalty towards him as it just seems completely crazy.

We didn't learn much we didn't already know about the team, except that Gazzaniga had by a mile his best game for us since his debut v Palace last season.

Aurier is a technically competent full back but rash and clumsy. I don't blame him that much for the penalty though, Mane was very quick and got his leg in front (I'm not arguing that it wasn't a penalty, mirror image of Lamela/VVD two seasons ago).

Toby and Sanchez were mostly solid.

Rose is absolutely, horrendously past it. I think we have to realise that the injuries have taken their toll and he won't ever get back up to speed.

Sissoko ran about a lot and did most things pretty well. He should've been further right to help Aurier counter Robertson more.

I was disappointed with Winks' ball retention. He dallied and lost the ball on a few bad occasions in the first half that led to us getting really pinned back.

Dele after two promising performances showed he isn't back to his old self yet. Never looked a threat and was very anonymous.

Eriksen should not be starting games for us when Lamela and Lo Celso are fit. He did sod all and still after all these years never clears the first man on corners. Boggles the mind if he thinks Real or Barca will come for him if he keeps playing like this.

Son was full of energy, made the first goal and I appreciate that he's running at full pelt round the keeper but he really should've put us two up.

Kane was what Kane is now. A neat passer and very good at getting in the right place, but his now complete absence of pace means he's simply a less effective striker than he was two years ago.

As for Poch, I didn't like the lineup and he put Ndombele on early but the two other changes were far too late. He can be proactive and change games with subs and tactical tweaks, we have seen games where he has done this, but he does it far, far too rarely for an elite manager.

But I don't see a narrow defeat away at Liverpool as enough of a setback to want a change of manager, however I would still want Poch to force the makeup of the squad to change, play Eriksen less, play Rose less, just be more proactive in phasing our the players we know won't be here next season and who act as if they don't want to be here this season. We need to see this in the coming months before the January window.

When Kyle Walker made noises that he wanted out and started challenging Poch he was cast aside and it was "if players aren't committed they are out".

Yet Eriksen is useless week in week out and we've known he's wanted out for ages. So what happened, Poch?

This is Donald Trump levels of delusion pal.

I love how you justified our tactics being correct because we were winning, after watching Liverpool destroy us for 47 minutes and 13 seconds of the half.
They didn’t destroy us. There was a 5/10 min spell in which they really pressured us. But otherwise we limited them.

This year yes. In total not even close

In total he has spent around £70m more net. Liverpool were more proactive on moving on players and re-investing the funds, and have also bought significantly better without overspending or outright wasting money on the likes of Sissoko, N'Jie, N'Koudou, Jansenn, Aurier, Sanchez etc.

Why would he not get a run of games? He isnt match fit nor is Ndombele
Why are they not? Only in Pochland do new signings need half a season or more to be fit enough to play just as only in Pochland players can’t play 2 games a week. Funny other teams don’t seem to have these problems

We clearly weren't set up for structured possession play? We clearly played for the counter, and did it quite successfully.
But there lied part of the problem today. We know we can have this lot on the ropes. We proved it a couple of seasons ago at Anfield when we dominated the game in the second half. This squad is more than good enough to compete with Liverpool. We played them as if we were Burnley, and without considerable success at all. Even so, if you do plan to concede possession then at least stop them pummelling our goal and create 5 or 6 dangerous breakaways with clever, purposeful moves.

Where's the aggression, the bravery, the bollocks? Everyone knows at the moment performances are more important than results, so let's just have a fucking go at them ffs. Of course this current team he's picking doesn't have it in them anymore because a third of them aren't playing for the shirt and our manager is still accommodating them whilst he loses his ruthless edge.

We're just fucking drifting and it's so sad to see.

Sanchez wasn’t a waste of money at all but the rest probably were yes.

Yes, our full backs are bad but are they really the main reason we're 4 points off the relegation zone? Most certainly not.

Not the main reason but they’ve been complicit in a number of goals from individual errors (Aurier) & poor positioning (Rose).
Plus neither offer much going forward.
