It is a mistake if you don't have someone to come in. He's still our best LB and by some distance despite his slight decline.

If it's a mutual move I get it but you have to replace with equal quality if not better. That's the direction we are trying to head into right?

Sessegnon is largely untested especially at LB. Davies is a good back up and offers cover at LCB also.

We are looking to challenge for the PL and on other fronts. We need a 1st choice LB.

Worrying. We’re going from Walker and Rose, the best FB’s in league, to Davies and Aurier. Surely need fresh blood in at least one of the FB positions if both KT and DR go, just to stay “competitive” as Poch calls it

I know that's frustrating and sounds like revisionist bull**** but it is true. That's the main reason the ITK thread has been empty for a few days, everyone was sitting waiting for this news to break so they could start talking again!

Cue the optimistic ratings, but if that means those two players have been working on leaving the club for several days, then we’ve been targeting players to replace them for at least that long. Going to be an interesting few weeks.

The injury proneness is worth noting. You know he’s never managed thirty league matches. Even Dembele did twice, and Anderton five times. These guys were considered crocks.

Hadn’t thought of the sess brothers as the full back replacements but that could well be the case especially if foyth also moves to RB, however Ryan is a LW at present so interesting if poch sees him as a LB in the mould of Rose, would need a fair amount of defensive coaching to get up to the level we need if so. But trust in Poch and don Levy.

The embargo on talking about the transfer of outgoing players (which makes zero sense in itself), coupled with GF ‘not for long’ info makes me think that we’ve made significant progress with at least one incoming FB.

So we are looking to ship out 3 out of our 4 starting back 4. All senior dressing room figures.

I'm glad JJ is opimistic. I can't help feeling a little worried tbh.

So Rose and Trippier not even making the pre-season tour yet Toby and Eriksen seem to be taking full part in pre-season maybe they are not that close to being out the door as we think??

There is no way we will sell Trippier and Rose. Pochettino likes Rose and he was one of our better performers last year. Sorry to disagree with the ITK's but I fully expect Rose to sign a new contract.

If all this is going to happen, losing Tripps, Rose, Toby, very possibly CE too, we will lose the core of our team all at once is a bit frightening.
Of course we will have replacements but getting everyone to gel quickly will be interesting too see.
But in Pochettino we trust ))

I think end of season ITK suggested that we would see a huge turnover in the squad this Summer. Changes at both starting FBs along with GLoC for Eriksen and the young CB for Toby, in addition to the new BigBossMan for Dembele, seems to fit that brief. Five for Five is a big change. Hopefully they can all hit the ground running. Mind you there is a lot of work to be done in the next three weeks to complete parts 2,3,4 and 5!
