I like Ceballos but if we're also getting Lo Celso, I hope signing him wouldn't mean that we didn't also go for a quicker, more attacking forward as well. It'd be great to have a similar midfield to Liverpool and City but their players have the likes of Mane, Salah, Sterling, Jesus and Mahrez as options for the out-ball.

I don't think we can go in to next season with only Son and Lucas again, as much as I love them.

We'll have Sessegnon who can offer options both at left back and WF I fancy. It would make sense to bring him in based on his potential and diversity across the left and right.

I hope with us signing lo celso and ceballos that it gives dele a real kick up the rear . He would no longer be a certain starter. His form was very average on the whole last season

I predict a huge season from him

I was under the impression with option to buy that a fee is pre agreed before the loan so then it would be up to Spurs to match it at any point and if they did then RM would have to accept. Of course it would be up to the player to agree too i'd imagine.

There's also obligation to buy which is basically a permanent deal except with the fresh contract at the end of the loan I presume. I think this only makes sense for players on big contracts though.

Yep. Southampton had an option to buy on Toby and he decided to join us instead.

Multiple ITKs have gotten in on it, no JJ or Ally Gold telling us it’s BS and multiple tier 2 type sources in Spain reporting it.

And Dan KP retweeting reports out of Spain that Ceballos has been convinced by Poch.
Honestly, I don’t think there’s any decent media outlets in Spain, so the tier system is slightly flawed. It’s usually the local radio stations/club journalists you should look out for and as yet none have said anything at all about Ceballos.

In terms of the English media, none of them have committed to this deal either.

I’m not saying it won’t happen, but until JJ says it’s a goer, I’ll assume it’s bollocks

I’m still convinced this is bollocks.
I do see what you're getting at. There hasn't been anything concrete from the British papers - just the usual Spanish gutter press reporting what's likely drivel or purposefully leaked. The ITKs are generally seeming to claim he's on the list but not top of it too.

Maybe there's another player under the radar, who the fuck knows.

Ally Gold included him in an article today and has killed off other rumors for Fernandes and Olmo so that gives me some hope.

He included him...and the only mention of him refers to the reports in Spain.

Yeah but he has previously denied interest in players who’ve had similar amounts of press.
The most bizarre thing about this rumour for sure is the fact that it just isn't commented on in England. Like, not even a single denial.

What the fuck even is this media tier system? Is it a real thing or something invented by someone on this forum (I have my suspects but won't be naming names.)?

It’s not an actual official thing but a lot of people use it to show the reliability of the source (not just in here)

It's commonly used on Reddit to distinguish reporters and media organisations based on their reliability and validity. Not sure if that's where it originated, but r/soccer uses it pretty heavily

Thanks for the info.

How do they come to the decision on what source is what tier? Just seems a bit ambiguous to me.

I never paid much attention to it because over time I've established my own idea of who is reliable and who isn't, but having looked at it closely recently, as impressive and detailed as it is, I think there's a hell of a lot of inaccuracies.

But then again, it depends on each club I suppose. The Sun for example is like Tier 5 on there but they have a decent record with our transfer news, and at least better than some of the outlets listed in higher tiers.
