On June 10, Trix said "The next two weeks will hopefully define this summer's transfer window". We are almost at a full two weeks. Should we start worrying yet? If no one is signed before the end of June, I think I will start getting flashbacks to last year with the World Cup and getting things done before that, and when nothing happened, it ended up leading to no transfers at all. Really hoping to hear something definitive in next week.

It doesn't necessarily mean that we would have to had made any signings by now.

It could also mean, that if no other (bigger) teams were in for our targets (Ndombele, GLC etc.) by the end of two weeks, we would be very confident of being able to get them in the end. Could also refer to Real not firming up their interest in Eriksen over the coming weeks.

I can’t really see why. Over the last two weeks we may have secured some of our targets but for one reason or another that has not been officially announced for all we know. Certainly there is so much less insecurity this window then some previously. From the information we have we know our targets and have been working on securing them. In June. That sounds like real progress to me. Even if the worst comes to the worst and we son’t Secure them we are moving on to other potentially at this stage rather than perhaps late July.

Don't take the two week timeline literally.

Ndombele said he wanted a holiday first roughly a week and a half ago, Lo Celso is looking at crunch time with the Copa America, Sessegnon is with the u21s and Eriksen is still up in the air. I said a few weeks back I'd be hugely surprised if anything gets going until July time and I still think that will be the case. We aren't Real Madrid, our pull isn't big enough for others to just say yes and why would they when they run the risk of missing out on a bigger club and bigger wages?

7 weeks until the window closes and If it hadn't changed it would be closer to 10 weeks. There's still plenty of time.

It’s clear we’re currently working on things. I think I’ll start to get worried if by the first week of July we’ve heard nothing concrete (news of medicals, a flood of news stories etc). Not sure when the players are back for pre-season but we’re ok till then.

Based on recent history alone you have to worry about thfc transfer windows. I do think this one will be different, as some of our deficiencies are so blatantly obvious. Poch's book is an interesting insight to how he works and the qualities a player needs to be considered. I think he will be backed, it might be a question of hoping bigger fish do not interfere with our preferred transfers.

For those upset with the “two weeks” ITK - I can only guess the naming rights for the stadium could be holding things up (If we do plan on getting an announcement before the season starts).

Any prospective company/organisation would want massive exposure if committing to a deal with us and what better way to announce it along with us maybe breaking the transfer record or signing some key stars to a new contract.

Im not too panicked as long as we get a key midfielder in before the tour or ideally in just for pre-season training starting.

I wouldn't take the guide of time as literal but things will have progressed or regressed with targets. We know players are being targeted. Think we just need to stop panicking. People need a break regardless of they want a move elsewhere...

Very few teams bar Real Madrid have signed anyone, there will be lots of discussions going on behind the scenes, I’m assuming the two week timeline will be to do with certain movements on specific players which none of us will know about unless one is very advanced and has been leaked to the media. As someone has already said, some of our key targets are playing in tournaments and on their holidays etc so won’t be rushing to make decisions just yet. Also the transfer window is a cycle in that once one team signs someone it causes a ripple effect of other teams selling and buying as a result. It’s early days so I wouldn’t take the ‘two weeks’ comment too literally but hopefully by end of 1st week of July we have some more positive concrete ITK that our key targets are close as I imagine Poch wants them in before pre season.

I think we have partially reached a stalemate position. Prices have inflated too much. Clubs are making money so don't have to sell. But not enough to afford to buy.

Madrid is the outlier, presidential election this summer they have to spend to keep perez's job.

We'll see what happens.

It’s not a stalemate position. If people can’t agree fees as “they way are too high” it just says that they are not responding to clear direction of the market.

Clubs have to ask themselves are they willing to do no business for a couple years to try to force them back down or do they want the players.

ITK this year appears to indicate we want the players so we will have to be realistic in what we are willing to pay or end up with no-one like last year.

Dier, whilst not indispensable, will be useful to keep around the squad l think.
This is it. CDM, RB and CB. While he might not be master of any currently, his utility lies in his utility and that can often allow a club to invest in other more needy places in a squad

hertyid on dier to manu story: Every part of this story is fiction.
Every part? Sure, stories linking Roy Race to Harchester United, this may be true. Technically Dier is an actual player and Manchester United are an actual club. Although cases may be made to argue both points.

I may be missing the point. Sounds like Dier isn’t going to United.
