Totally agree but this is were we have to learn. Poch mentioned it last year about Juve cuteness in 2nd leg to control/kill the game. As much i hate it we need to do same. Things like tackle on rose, our players need to realise there is no advantage stop play and make the ref give free kick.
Agree. Real Madrid etc would have been in the Refs face with a wtf!

I think Poch picked the right team. The 22 second penalty was such a cruel start.
We took a long while to make chances but the start determined everything- we couldn’t all bomb forward because if they had scored a second, there would be almost no chance of coming back from that.
We made lots of chances from 65 mins onwards- I saw somewhere that Allison made the most saves of any goal keeper in a CL final- and we’re unfortunate not to equalise.
I wouldn’t even agree Kane was poor. He played pretty well and got stronger.
Unfortunately, this will feel worse over time as we rue the lost opportunity to change the club forever- unless we can make this a step to success, as Liverpool have done.

I gotta be honest I can barely recall anything about the match. I had a few drinks but I think that I was so on edge all game that my brain wasn't really processing anything that was going on. I certainly cant recall us fashioning any real chances other than when Son pussied out of driving through to go one on one. All in all such a feeling of disappointed of what could have been.

Dunno if this has been posted . Steve Nichol 'Spurs started a man down Kane wasn't moving for the ball '

Stewart Robson 'Harry Kane made no runs whatsoever '

Not that these guys have a monopoly on reality , but this chimes in with how it looked to me

Mate, its a double edged sword, if we won we all would be singing a different tune. the best way to beat Liverpool's defense is with pace. VVD ate Kane up for breakfast with anything that came that way.

this was a game for Mr Dembele. why the hell did we sell this guy?

at his best he was the best player at the club, other players hated playing against him. half fit, he was still one of our best players. we've missed him badly since he left

Why? We moved the ball too slow in midfield as it is, not sure what he could have did to improve the way we attacked?

It's standard practice on here now mate. Literally every bloody loss is greeted with "why the fuck did we sell Dembele" post, despite the fact that it's been explained a million times that, because his body could no longer take the rigours of PL football, he & the club agreed he could leave in the summer, yet he still remained until January to help us out.

Why can't people just accept that & move the fuck on?

For me handball should only be if its a deliberate ball to hand movement, the fact that we now have var that should be easy to distinguish.

Anyway, just say we didn't concede a dubious pen and it was just a normal legit early goal. We still had 89 mins to do something. But as it has been shown we struggle so badly against teams that sit deep. The guile and creativity is just not there.

Poc has done great with his hands tied to get us to where we are, now Levy needs to help him out by levelling the playing field as much as we can.

ah, the old "he moved the ball too slow in midfield" lol. he moved the ball no slower than Dier, Wanyama, or Sissoko and sometimes Eriksen. the only progressive forward passing midfielder we have is Winks.

Right so you practically admitting that he moved the ball just as slow as our other current players in midfield meant that he would have made a difference, not sure I understand your point?

So if he does indeed move the ball 'no slower than Dier, Wanyama or Sissoko' then what difference would he had made to the match?

It's very easy to scapegoat something and look at things negatively when you lose especially for those unable to accept we lost because of maybe we didn't turn up on the day. We sold Dembele in January for the reasons you mentioned and since then we reached the CL final without Moussa so to try and turn this into a DeMbEle WoUlD hAvE mAdE a DiFfErEnCe narrative is really funny and quite predictable, people just tend to lack perspective and a bit of common when you suffer a negative result sense sometimes so it's not surprising especially on here.

Dembele can go pass a player and that is what we needed. By no means am I saying he was the gospel answer to our midfield yesterday. As an example when Moura did come on he drifted into midfield and cruised past players which help to drive us forward.

Yep but transitioning from midfield wasn't our problem, the problem was getting it into the front men quicker and our final product so I'm not sure what difference Dembele would have made in that respect?
