If someone is close to Frankfurt or has a option to get their quite cheap: They still have direct flights to Madrid from Friday to Sunday for around 400-450 €.

Unfortunately I am not able to go :(

I'm into Barcelona Friday night. Staying in Barcelona. Driving over and smashing it back on the road to catch the first flight to Bristol. £500 all in.

This afternoon/evening I hope. What do we reckon, anything left field or just solely on loyalty points?

Loyalty points I reckon. Will be in bands.

I have a problem as I have about 20 more than the wife. I just know we will be in different bands.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to book a package holiday for a week in Benidorm and nip up to Madrid and back to finish your holiday?

I can't be certain as I've never done it, but I suspect you're massively underestimating how much that would cost. Just had a quick gander out of interest and you're looking at something like 8 grand an hour for a plane that would fit 20 people. For arguments sake you had to book it for 12 hours that would be nearly 5 grand per person. And I assume there's extra charges on top of that like runway fees depending on which airport you land at etc. too.
Some one I work with does it a fair bit. He's middle aged, single with no kids, but I don't exactly think he's Scrooge McDuck .

On that note, I bet Scrooge McDuck is in the UEFA Family. Seems like exactly the kind of bloke who would fit right in

There's about 17k tickets for the final. There's about 18k people ahead of me on points.
Small chance I might win the lotto and get one.

Flights to Madrid are insane, as the airlines take the piss.

Anyone else doing anything novel to get there?
I was looking at flights to other Spanish airports last night for half the price then a 4-5 hour drive to get to Madrid.

What are your plans? Caught up the dough or get creative?

Out if interest, how do you know where you are in the points list? I know how many I have but is it poss to tell how far up (or more likely down) the queue that puts me?

There is a table of points burried on the website.
I have 101 so am around 18,000 down. Tantalisingly close to the number of tickets available.

Given the cost, game abroad, weekend away etc I'm inclined to think it could drop down to my level.

Thinking I'll apply for a ticket and let fate decide.
