Grealish it seems was a attempted circumstantial signing. We were only in for him as there was a chance to get him at a bargain price. Even then our owners fucked that up, new owners came into AVFC & they told us to do one. That ship has now sailed as even if AVFC don’t come up they’ll want market rate for him & we don’t pay that!

Exactly. Papers (I know) are now saying he has a release clause of £60 million in his contract. That’s us out. Next.

Jjetset. He wrote there would be 2 different approaches on transfer market depending on the fact if we are in CL next season or not.
I'm shocked to read what Hercules wrote to be honest, truly shocked.
We talk on here and other forums like we really know what is going on at Levy Heights when in fact we have not got a scooby.

It’s daft to think ‘the ‘powers that be’ are not as worried by our current situation as we all are.
Here in lies the stupidity of how we approach this. Immaterial of the competition we are in we should be signing players who fit the squad and will win us trophies. Besides was Llorente/Jannsen/N'jie/Nkoudo all CL level players.. Doubt it.

I think it is a BS way of doing things. Identify who you want negotiate NOW in the season with the clubs and sign them up by end of June. How FUCKING hard can that be. I'm tired of the B. S story about waiting for the Big clubs to do business. What horse manure is that. We too are a Big club.
I also recommend you to see what Trix has posted. It does not look optimistic good but could be informative.
If what they both say is true. It shows that Enic have no interest in winning any trophies. They just happy making up the numbers.
It was JJ on twitter saying we are not currently working on any deals. Someone shared the info in this forum. It was in late April.

Post 4937:

"JJ on twitter today saying the club aren't actively working on deals (as you're not allowed to outside of the TW) but have picked out their targets and who they're looking to offload. Doesn't that seem pretty foolish and something that other clubs do? I mean Real Madrid are actively working on."

Not sure how to link that post directly.
This is exactly what is p*ssing me off with Levy and whoever is involved in our transfer activity. No wonder we don't sign anyone these days, they are clueless.

- We don't deal with super agents.
- We don't deal with Arsenal, West Ham or Chelsea.
- We don't talk to anyone regarding transfers unless the window is open and even then probably not until right at the end.
- We want an absolute bargain for every purchase we make.
- We want to make that bargain purchase in tiny installments over 5 yrs.
- We want to pay the player way less than he can get elsewhere on a 5 yr year deal with an option of 1 more yr.

The above is why we don't get anything done. Until this behaviour stops, don't expect major changes.

Love this sort of shit.

ITK comes out with anything even slightly positive, and this place is full of shit like, "You're gonna believe that tosh? ITK is bullshit, they know nothing, it's just puppets being fed shit by those ****s who are taking our money & screwing us over." etc etc etc.

ITK comes out with something negative, and suddenly those full of shit club puppets are speaking unquestionable, 100% facts & the world is going to end.

Good old SC

no
Because he really is not that good. Yes he has had a purple patch season crossing a football, but genuinely he is a top 10 player at best.

He hasn't hit a purple patch, he's a very good little player who never stops working, is fast, tenacious, unselfish, team player & improving with age.

I'll respect your opinion, not dismiss it out of hand.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been promised he can make some big signings this summer. Link..... (Sun)

Yeah I know....it's the Sun.

[Sky Sports Italia] understand Kieran Trippier's wife is in Naples checking out schools ahead of a possible transfer from Spurs.

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the club are now 'evaluating' the Tottenham Hotspur defender ahead of a possible summer switch.

Didn't know his wife was a teacher....(joking, joking). That's good to know...cheers.

It's not really that good to know. Most of SkyItalia stuff is via that DiMarzio fella, and he's, umm, questionable at best.

And good old MailSport understand Donny van de Beek is now being tracked by Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer window and are in a prime position to sign the player for £45M.

Jack Grealish, Wilf Zaha and Ryan Sessegnon are also among Spurs’ targets for the upcoming window.

I'll settle for any rumour about him at the moment. Doubt there's going to be a queue forming for his services. So much to sort out for next season....a lot of decisions to be made regarding who's going but Trippier must be one of them I'd have thought.

Winks when fit is one of the first names on the sheet for me. He now needs a good summer off to try to sort out all these little niggling injuries out and put them to bed once and for all...hopefully. Football is essentially a simple game, if you have the ball they can’t score..in most cases..in my opinion winks is our one player who actually appreciates this and treasures the ball and doesn’t give it away cheaply...something sorely lacking in most English midfielders..

And he plays well next to sissoko

He’d probably be successful in that league; it’s slower and less physical

Well that's the end of that then

My comment had nothing what so ever to do with ITK’s
It’s more not taking the media or web too seriously.

Yep, I'm expecting many outbursts & much drama on here throughout the summer. Thankfully it doesn't happen often :cautious:.

Definitely. The pace would certainly suit his game and if ever there was a league/country that could focus solely upon improving his defensive game, it's Italy & Serie A.

Huge rebuild needed in the summer, with question marks over every position.

GK - What to do with our 3rd choice slot?
DL - Do we need more pace and dynamism?
DC - What's going to happen with Toby? How do we replace him?
DR - Who do we keep? Are any good enough?
DM - Is Dier good enough, is Wanyama finished?
CM - Do we need more depth and creativity?
AM - Will Eriksen leave? What has happened to Dele?
WF - Where are the options off the bench?
CF - Can we find a back up/partner for Kane?

Are any of our youngsters good enough and if they are then why doesn't Poch trust them?

The dip in form over the course of this season should be a huge wake up call so no excuses for not addressing some of our many issues.

Your post was included solely because you were the only person pointing out that, despite the animosity in the other posts I quoted, yours was the only one pointing out that they don't know what anyone at the club is doing, or how they go about their business. (y)

Could not disagree more with this, I actually think we miss Winks as much as Kane. Not saying he's at the same level obviously but we don't have anyone else who does what he does, he has become a massively important player for us. He was outstanding at the Bernabeu but that was not a one off by any stretch. The injuries are obviously concerning but he'd still be in my top 5 or 6 players to do everything we can to keep hold of. He's also Tottenham through and through which helps.

You’re right, we don’t have anyone else who does what Winks does, but that’s more down to the fact we’ve got no midfield than to Winks’s ability.

As I said, I wouldn’t care if he left, I don’t think we’d notice.

What makes Winks a bit more valuable is that he is HG and from the youth setup. Abilitywise he shouldn't be more than depth.

Well to be honest, he’s not worth anything like that, current market or not. He’s only had a consistently good spell in the championship. Nobody in that division is worth £60m

We’ll see what happens. I’ve always said even if they come up he probably needs a move this summer. He’s lagging behind the rest in his generation, he needs to get a move on. Another season at Villa, who will struggle massively in the prem, could be seen as another season wasted, especially if he really wants to play regularly for England. It might be difficult for him to influence games in such a poor side too.

I think we should look at Ayoze Perez. 6 months ago I would have laughed at the prospect, but he has improved greatly the last months.

His biggest strength is how good he is in crowded areas with limited space, the kind lf enviroment we face every week. He is no speed merchant that need room to attack in. His style is suited to a team playing against parked busses imo.

Other "gettable" players in positions of need with right attitude is Digne, AWB and Grealish.
