It would be incredibly short sighted to pass up the opportunity to sign Sessegnon on the cheap at this stage tbh
If buying Sessegnon was the difference between being able to afford Ndombele or Andre Gomes would you be happy with that?

I'm still very much of the opinion we have a limited budget and need to really focus on what our team needs are and be smart about our purchases.

My issue with Sessegnon is I am not a scout and don’t watch a huge of Fulham so can’t make a judgment.

From what I have seen he is a tidy player with good technique and decent eye for a simple pass. He has been quite wasteful when shooting from the little I have seen.

He got player of year in the Championship suggesting he has good potential but has struggled at a poor Prem side. Don’t think any of us have enough to go on to really judge.

I’m not saying this isn’t true but, it seems a bit of guesswork if you ask me.

Where he says that we haven't yet identified who we want for CM is what made me laugh. More like you have no idea who we're targeting.

Pretty poor article if you ask me.

I just hope we go all out for really good players this time (optimistic ratings incoming) even if it means only getting 3 in. I would rather that then 5 average players. I dont want Sess, Rondon or Gomes.

Regarding Gomes if Pochettino wants him I am in, technically he is a good player with a sweet left foot... he wouldn’t be my first choice but hey...Sissoko was a poch buy he saw something in him and look now

My only issue with it is his price vs our budget and what our needs are. If we go with him and Rose at LB and Rose gets hurt again is anyone really comfortable running out Sessegnon for 2 or 3 months game in/game out? Davies and Sessegnon is most definitely not a good enough duo at this point either.

I also don't think we should spend 30mil on a guy who would likely be our 6th string AM option when we have much bigger needs.
Rose is not gonna sign another contract here (Levy won’t be offering him one), so it would be preparing for the future.

Levy is not gonna spend the £75m it would take get Ndombele on one player so it’s a moot point.

Let's say, for debates sake that we are open to listening to offers for 12 of our players. The players the Evening Standard have listed are:

Trippier
Aurier
Rose
Alderweireld
Janssen
Llorente
Nkoudou
Wanyama
Lamela
Sissoko
Vertonghen
Eriksen

Add Vorm & Dembele to that list it'll mean the club long term needs:

1x Goalkeeper
2x Right back
1x left back
2x Centre back
1x defensive midfieler
2x central midfielder
1x attacking midfielder
2x wide forward
2x forward

Say for rationales sake that we end up buying/ selling one in each of those positions. Who do you go for?

1x defensive midfieler - Sander Berge
2x central midfielder - Tanguy Ndombele
1x attacking midfielder - Kai Havertz

Drop ALL the money.

That's not his job, Modric doesn't get assists, neither does Winks particularly.

Gomes is a double pivot type of CM that looks to recycle possession from deep and dictate tempo.
Surely we would like a CM who functions a a deep lying playmaker. Modric gets between 5 and 8 assists a season in addition to recycling the ball.

My issue is that he’s not a very convincing one. Admittedly it’s still early days, but I’ve never been that impressed and he was woeful against us, albeit in what was a good performance by us

Grealish, Rice, Ndombele, Diawara - these are the sorts we should be going after IMO
I realise some are quite unlikely
