Maybe I have rose-tinted glasses as far as Poch is concerned. But...wow. Some of the slating on here amazes me. The Spurs PR department has worked a treat. I simply don’t buy that Poch wasn’t interested in new signings. Absolute crap. Maybe the players he felt might improve what we have weren’t offered up? It’s a recurring theme of every single manager we’ve had for years at Spurs.

Be very careful what we wish for. I’d prefer to stick with Poch and let him sling out the the players that don’t have heart or want to play for us.

I think he was interested in new signings, just not the crap that Levy was offering him, he wanted quality and rightly so but the club could not afford.

I think we might be saved another season because United did us a massive favour, they sacked Jose and Madrid fans are chanting his name whilst getting in a manager who's become a fan favourite who will have to be given the opportunity at the job fulltime.

What I will say is this season is very reminiscent of the final Harry season, in that it was felt we needed a few more pieces to complete the team, ended up with Nelson/Saha instead and then we began throwing games through tactical ineptitude and the manager showing his frustration. I really hope it doesn't go that way.

I actually think differently, I think because Mourinho has been touted for Madrid, Poch is worrying about missing his chance again. I also think the PSG job will be available in the summer so I think he’ll have a decision to make, you never hear Klopp,Conte et al flirting with other management jobs, Poch is consistently doing it now.

It might be to keep Levy on his toes, but what if Levy decides he’s had enough? people keep telling me this squad was good enough to win something...You’ve won me nothing...off you go...

Poch is a great coach, he makes players better, but I’m not sure he’s a winner. His chance to win was the 16/17 season. He overthinks things, which create his indecision, which ultimatley cause a tactical mess or the situation we’ve had today..,great first half, opposing manager changes it...fails to react and we lose.. it’s happened too many times each season for it not to be about the manager.

Even if he does stay, I think next season would be his last.

It’ll be a sad day when Poch finally does leave...as a person he’s a class act...but it does appear to have gone a bit stale...could the new stadium create the lift we desperately need??

Jesus....talk about a motivational statement. Wonder what Kane, Son, Dele and Eriksen will make of that following on from the "we need 5 to 10 more years" speech the other week. So losing to Southampton is a sign of where our "real" level is ??
Poch is definitely asking for the fans to be less demanding or expectant of imminent success...after nearly 5 years I've lost patience....how long before the club do too ??
Project Pochettino can't be given 5 more years surely. Hardly words to stir the hearts of players or fans.

Poch has taken the team right now to it's correct level; however if he had added to the team we would be doing better.

WTF?

Before he came in did you expect us to be where we are now?

What exactly have you "lost patience" over? We were perennial 5-8 place. Now we're 2-5. That's a remarkable achievement.

We're all disappointed but let's not be stupid about it.

Is that correct level the team that plays in the champions League or the one that threw away the game today at Southampton ?? just want to make sure

If Levy decides he's had enough, then he's batshit crazy and stupid. Because the lack of signings is what's holding us back, not Poch. I have nothing against Winks and Sissoko, but they're not good enough to be the first choices at CM. Are they good enough to be squad players? Absolutely. And our wing backs are not good enough. Davies is solid, but nothing spectacular. Rose, Aurier and Trippier are not good enough for the level we want to be at. Rose has a lot of heart, but lets be honest, he's not even close to being the same player he was a few years ago.

The reason for things appearing stale is the lack of signings. We need new blood in the starting eleven and in the squad.

Nobody remembers who came 2nd to 5th just like they can't recall 5th to 8th place. It's took 5 years and then he makes statements like those....hardly inspiring. You prepared to give him another 5 years to win something or do you view 2nd to 5th as "success" ??

As time goes on expectations also change according to the scenario. Yeah we didn't expect it, but at this point in time our expectations are accurate - we should be going for the league after how far we've come. We're so fucking close, just bring in some quality ffs! At least if we do that and still fail we know where the problem lies.

What the fuck are you talking about? If you want instant success then we need to be a Oil Slaver team. Otherwise what Poch's achieved since he came here is unprecedented.

Jesus Christ - fucking entitled twats forgetting recent history does my head in. Am I prepared to give the guy who took us from nearly top 4 to last 8 of the Champions League and lookign like we belong WITHOUT BEING AN OIL SLAVER.

Fuck yes...

Christ almighty...

So Poch is now the victim of his own success in making the team able to compete with the Oil slavers of this world on a 10th of the budget?

Maybe we should show some tapes of the AVB years? Or th bottling of the Redknapp era. Fucking hell...

That's something to tell the grandchildren when they ask about the team. My grandad sat and told me about Bill Nicholson and showed me a picture of us winning the double 60/61....that inspired me....not "we didn't win but we did well" or "yes but look at the accounts for that season".
I'm an old man who wants to see a Spurs captain lift another trophy before I die....is that really too much to ask and I must settle for less ??? Instant success you say....it's hardly that.

It does beg the question where he could go if he decides he's reached the end of the road at Spurs. Allegri is leaving Juve possibly so there might be a vacancy there....

I know it's difficult to believe, but BBC was reporting this morning that the guy who sensationally broke the news about Ronaldo leaving Madrid to sign for Juventus (I think it was 2 months before it became official) has said Pep Guardiola will become the Juventus manager.

Like I said, difficult to believe. However, stranger things have happened, and Pep does tend to not hang around at 1 club for too long. Also all this FFP stuff that's coming out, and his statements about how it won't stain his achievements at Man City. Maybe the storm is brewing?

State of some of these posts. 'Mourinho'?! Cheque book manager will not manage us, jeez.

Poch's worked wonders and, like any other professional, isn't immune to criticism. However, football is about the money and we don't have anywhere near as much as our rivals. As such, he's kept us punching above our weight.

Issue is mentality to an extent and player power in some senses. Who's Harry's or Erikson's competition? And the lack of money has cost us in defense: KWP, Foyth and Sanchez are great prospects but so raw.

And we can't play down being homeless for two seasons.

Bang on the money.

If it weren’t for the familiar names that have been around this forum for the past 10 years or more i’d think I was reading the opinions of teenagers who didn’t know the bad old days of 10th being Tottenhamth.

Or the good old days of scrapping for 6th spot and the Europa cup.

Is top 4 success? Damn bloody right it is.

Do I want a title? Of course.... but do I expect or demand one? Hell no. It would be amazing but ... would I rather be Leicester or Blackburn and have witnessed a premier league title, or would I rather be spurs .... i’d Be spurs every day of the week.

All a bit strange at the moment.

We fought so hard while everyone was injured, and suddenly we're almost up to full strength and we're playing like we're on the beach already at times.

Can't get my head around it but hope we sort it out soon.
