Son needs to take a hard look at himself and raise to the challenge of being someone in this team. As for Eriksen OMG....when is Dele back

Not a great performance and like all NLD derbies form goes out the window. I was pleased we tried to get back into the game but you could sense were waiting for the second wind to carry us through the season. Pochettinho had to play Rose in midfield now that says it all. It's time come the end of season we try to make squad improvement.

Son needs to rise to the challenge of being someone in this team? The last 3 years not proven that you? Son is the only player in the team to have pretty much played 2 years without any break. Still gives 100%. But playing up top with Kane just doesn't work. Kane needs to go back to being a target man instead of trying to play like Dele and let Son run through the spaces.

The thing that seems weak to me in Trippier's defensive work today was his winger on the ball could always shift and cross past him with ease .
He stood off and presented little impedance . Its a basic FB requirement to cut out crosses imo .

Obviously I watched a different game to most.

I thought in the second half the fight shown by Rose and Lamela changed the game dynamics. For much of the game we were second to everything just allowing Arsenal to get to the ball first and do what they liked. These two game Arsenal a hard time, battled for everything and tried to change the game. We needed players with fight and attitude today and these two brought that.

We are currently short of invention, sharpness and creativity but hurting us most in the lack of trying to impose ourselves and not just sit back hoping something will just happen. Of course the Wanyama of old might have tried to help but now he is just a slow lump in the middle and Sissoko who provides the muscle but is more athletic does this role better.

Anyway we looked like a team lacking confidence, daring to do nothing but towards the end we showed some fight, refused to lie down and got a good result out of it against a team who came to do little more than stop us. Those last twenty minutes may well have saved our season

MOTM would be Lloris

I have to agree. It may look different on tv though, but I thought the lamela sub changed the game for us, and whilst Rose was a bit hair raising at times in cm the twos attitude and fight really got the crowd onside.

A little bit surprised by the wayama ratings too, after being out for pretty much two seasons I thought he put in an assured performance which I thought was reflected in the crowds appreciation when he came off.

But again i have to re-watch it on tv and see. Actually I don’t because it was hard work ?

But yeah sissoko was superb yet again today. Amazing what confidence does to a player, seems to added some passing range to his locker

We all know Son's capabilities, I'm not comparing Kane but one thing about Kane even when he's not playing well is he doesn't hide and takes responsibility.... I just felt as soon as Kane came back into the team Son has taken his foot off the pedal and being a top player he needs to address this...not only Son Eriksen too

The team as a whole has looked worse since Kane came back, not just Son

Man of the match, Gazzaniga.
No, sorry its that keeper from Watford
wait i think its the other one from Germany Schalke or Hertha Berlin
Eh..or was it that one from Everton...fuck me Im a such a whore, i cant decide

At least the ones i listed can save penalties at will, can distribute better than Beckham, doesnt let in goals through their legs like Degea, Ederson, Alison, Iker Casilas, Olivier Khan, Chilavert

Who let the clown in?

Struggling performance. Physically and mentally drained squad trying to squeeze the last bit out of the tank. Thanks Poch. Hope you are berry berry happy not freshening up the squad. Hop A Long Cassidy would have done better then a clearly 75% fit version of Wanyama.

Dortmund are going to tear us another one I fear.

Bizarre that he put Rose in the middle rather than Verts. Poch does seem to specialise in counter intuitive team selections....
That’s because Verts can cross a ball and Rose can’t. Did nothing offensively before the change and was a disaster defensively after the change.

It was either Rose or Skipp because Wanyama was done before the game kicked off. I understand why it couldnt be Skipp, so yeah props to Poch I guess.

However, and I dont want to beat a dead horse, the fact that Poch and Levy let the squad get to this point is shocking.
Yes, MP gets no credit for helping to create a situation, then getting away with a half arsed solution that was possibly the least worse option. Rose didn't know what he was doing there and could have got badly hurt more than once. It was undignified.

MP persisting with a player who was finished some time ago in Wanyama is the real mystery. He has no-doubt been a decent and loyal player and friend for MP over the years, and we know MP values the human interaction side of things. But the guy is a multimillionaire and a football career is short.
Wanyama is not going to starve. He can play at a level that he is more suited to for a few years.
He should have been replaced and MP has no excuse.

A draw suits us better than arsenal, but Lackofsex and 'the cat' could have and should have had a couple or 3 goals between them. We were very lucky.

PS as Tottenhamboy85 correctly points out, the ref was technically absolutely right in giving us the penalty. The only penalty shout he got wrong was down the other end.

Good - Hugo, Toby, Jan, first half Eriksen, LB Rose, Sissoko
meh - Sanchez, Kane
bad - second half Eriksen, Wanyama's shadow, DM Rose, Trippier, Son

Rewatching that was a cruel and unusual punishment to myself. Holy hell our play in the second half was horrendous. Just non stop long balls, that we never won. And dribbling... so much dribbling all game.

You're right to say Pochettinho hasn't freshened up the squad in terms of transfer buys but so wrong in your intention to blame him. Now I'm happy /cool with Pochettinho waiting for the right players in the market, there's no point adding putty. Question ❓ has Pochettinho used the Squad because in my opinion his performed miracles in how to use a squad with so many injuries etc and still been competitive across the board.
