I genuinely don't understand how they can have all these players and keep within the salary cap.

Have to say the domestic league in England is going to get very tedious if Sarries keep on this way.

Well 2 players are chosen who are not included in the salary cap. Owen farrell would be one of them on a reported 750k a year. Not sure about the other one.

But they will have to do something when players like itoje and the vunipola brothers want more money. If they didnt have the rule that you can't play for england unless you play in the premiership most of our star players would be gone.

The salary cap needs to be higher so clubs arent penalised for bringing through top talent.

I disagree, the clubs can't afford it even with the new money.

I think sarries get players because they have a really good atmosphere and can promise euro cup runs and finals while being in london.

Wasps look to be falling off a cliff. They have to be worried.

I just don't trust Sarries I'm afraid. Everyone knows they flaunted the rules before so I'm more than prepared to believe they're doing it again now.

There's no way Sarries are paying their players less than Wasps and Quins who have apparently gone over the cap (albeit not my much apparently).

There head coach has been vocal about getting the salary cap raised as well.

I counted how many players they had in the senior squad from there web page and it was 40. Take away the 2 marquee players and that leaves 7m for 38 players. A few of them will be on less than 50k as they're young. So it could be done

I thought he’d make changes but not this many.

Wales: L Williams; Holmes, J Davies (capt), Watkin, Adams; Biggar, A Davies; N Smith, Dee, Lee, Ball, Beard Wainwright, Young, Navidi.

Replacements: Elias, W Jones, D Lewis, Alun Wyn Jones, Moriarty, G Davies, Anscombe, Amos.

Personally I’d rather play the team that’s going to play England but this is the bad thing about playing Italy next as you can afford to play a weaker team and the above team should still be getting a bonus point but it’s not good for continuity. Especially that 9,10,12 combo.

Part of me wishes we had Scotland next as we’d be forced into playing our first team which would then give us some continuity going into the England game. Compare that to England who are obviously going to play the exact same team that beat Ireland, minus Itoje obviously

I always look at the France lineup and it gives me no insight whatsoever.

They could be great. They could be absolutely terrible. They can be both in the same game as they were against Wales.

I am none the wiser.

If they had a Schmidt, Gats, Jones, Hansen etc they’d be a problem.

Mind you I don’t get how they can be so poorly coached. They’re top players playing in a top league so maybe it’s harsh to blame successive french coaches.

Their pack, while ginormous, aren’t the fittest which I’m sure will tell around the hour mark.

Come on then, Arnold. Share the joke with the rest of the class.

Regardless of home advantage, there is no way that the gap between England and France is going to be greater than the gap between Wales and Italy.

I think Ireland will beat Scotland as well, but that wasn't as funny!

If I had to put my house on it then I’d obviously go for an Ireland win but it should be a close game and I’ve got a feeling in my gut Scotland will nick it.

You know we’re playing a totally different team, right? Wainright, Young, Watkins, Aled Davies, Ball etc. Not to mention a 9,10,12 combo that’s never played together. Add that into the fact Italy are much better at home. That’s before you even consider that our “first team” didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory last weekend. That first half was probably the worst I’ve ever seen us under Gatland

Then consider the performance you put in last week, unchanged side (more or less) and you’re at home and I don’t think it’s ludicrous to think that you’ll win by a bigger margin than us.

We’ve also had troubles in Italy, on occasion, over the years.
