We aren’t talking about 100m worth of players here though are we? We’ve been after Tielemans since he was 15 and he’s technically very good. With Poch’s coaching he could become a top player. He’s still very young so huge scope for improvement and if it didn’t work out we’d still get quite a bit for him.

It's not me you have to convince. I'm was just stating that there must be a reason we are not going for the players, and that's probably because our scouts haven't rated them highly.

Tielemans does look an interesting option currently, but there is a fair concern with him being one of these FIFA/FM whizz kids that never quite hits the same heights, certainly after his Monaco spell. The little I've seen of him however does suggest there's a spark there and Poch could work wonders with him. The question is whether Poch is willing to take him.

Could very well be the case, but he is still younger than Dele so I think he has a little more time to prove himself as a top footballer.

Yeah that's fair, and Dele's career could have wobbled if he made the wrong move from MK Dons. I'd like us to go for it personally.

I think he's been below par this season. His long passing was really good last night. He doesn't use it enough if you ask me. But that was about it.

I reckon he is missing Dembele more than anyone else. He used to dovetail with him so well.

He misses Kane and Dele as well. Their movement in and around the box is where Eriksen skillset shines.
He also plays a bit deeper this season and I get the feeling that Pochettino wants Eriksen there to move the ball from side to side faster.
But it also means Eriksen is less of a goal threat.

Anyway, he's still a class act in my opinion.

French press think Hazard is off to RM. Will they really spend £200m to bring in Eriksen as well ? Unlikely.

Will Barca be looking for Eriksen when they’ve bought de Jong and are rumoured to be in for a new striker to replace Sanchez?

Eriksen to sign a new contract. You heard it here first kids.

No one needs to spend 200M on Eriksen. Levy won't let him go for free so I wouldn't be surprised if it was as low as 75M, outside of premier League.

So say no one goes in for Eriksen this summer - what is the motivation for him signing and extending his contract?

Maybe he knows it's a little bit risky to move to a club like Barca and especially Real, he could easily flop there as good as he is. And those clubs are very different than Spurs, there's no patience in there. Also Real seems a bit messy atm, but if there's somekind of reform going he might suit there.

Itk we had said he was only waiting on one club otherwise he stays so if the piece in the mirror is correct and Real Madrid are opting out we have reason to be cheerful.

Pretty good indication of how far Eriksen has fallen this year. Not in the top 13 players for chances created from open play this season. I'm pretty sure he topped it last year.

Whether it's the change in formation, regular change to the personnel around him due to injuries, fatigue from the WC, the distraction of contract negotiations, or more likely a combination of all three that's caused it, it's concerning.

I wouldn't necessarily say he's had a poor season, although by his lofty standards that could certainly be argued, but he's regressed a lot.

If we are to stand any chance of winning the league we need him at full tilt. We need his special free kicks and through balls to son ect. Run the damn game like we know u can christian!

P.s. leave the soggy corner kicks at home though!

For me Eriksen when he is good he is fantastic but for me he has of late been average or below average and all this panic about if he leaves is a nonsense he like all the big players we have lost in recent years is replaceable .
Me for one don't want him to leave but it would not be reason to panic.

Strongly disagree with your sentiment here.

Alot has been said about how he is operating deeper this season, he is rarely one of the front 3 nowadays. He is starting moves more rather than playing the final incisive pass. He was also talking about how he doesn't mind where he plays as long as he is getting the ball...

I don't think he's regressed as a player at all, and you've provided all the valid reasons about this season already in your post. I'd also add that the whole team hasn't been as good performance wise. We've just been much better at grinding out results.

The only thing that concerns me about Eriksen is him leaving.
