This could only happen if there is a sponsor to bring him back. Nike would be a big catalyst. But a joint effort, club plus Nike is a possibility....

Bale coming home is a massive morale booster.... anyway it is fairly remote and such deal requires a long term negotiation. RM will go for highest bidder now given how inflated the market is right now.

We had the ITK (more than one IIRC) about next season, so there must be interest from both sides, and we must have something in mind to get around the financial implications.

The problem is, even if there's a stupidly low chance, it'll be completely snuffed out as long as Utd have the hots for him. They'll just keep raising the numbers until we are forced to give up.

Such a shame really as he's probably the only player in the top 20-30 players that would even consider playing for Tottenham even if we paid decent money (excluding our boy H of course).

Not certain that's how a first refusal situation would work. I'd assumed that they'd make an offer, and we get the opportunity to match, and if we match he's ours. It's not really first refusal if they can go back to the other team after we match and get another offer, is it?

Pretty sure the contract we negotiated with RM when selling meant we had first rights to buy back if he was sold on the English market. Still won't happen though.

1) I'd imagine it means Bale would have to talk to us and we'd have to have any matching bids accepted. Decision would surely be down to the player though. He can't be forced to sign for us, and even if we get a window to agree terms without competition. They'd still let his agent hear their offer.

2) If that was the case Utd would just keep going higher until we pulled out.

If Gareth came home it would be like the Klinsman transfer, where a genuine world class player comes to us out of the blue.
Would be the biggest transfer in premier league history.

I think deep down he knows he has unfinished business here...

It was breezer and another ITK maybe hertyid or ali z said this could happen next year and breezer later repeated this. This will not happen however if Bale became available i am sure numbers would be looked at. I aren't remotely excited about it as i know the unhappiness afterwards is not worth it

I did hear that the reason he didn't come to the finale at The Lane, was because his next appearance was to be at a bigger stadium for us. I thought that meant our new one, could be Wembley tho.

Wow, that almost sounds real, such a shame I totally made it up cos I'm bored.

If we had tentative plans to bring him back next season, it could be that those plans have been accelerated because he's become available now. If he was in our plans we might not want to lose him to someone else.

Hypothetically of course.

Btw it's pretty boring to see post after post saying "never going to happen" it's not adding anything to the discussion that's not already been said.

Less than zero chance, united are the only British club who could match his wages. However, that day after he bludgeoned inter was the day every spurs fan went to work feeling 20ft tall knowing every club in world football was watching and envious. The saying is never go back but god in heaven it would be sensational and would shit all over neymar to psg
