We're lucky that our crest is quite simple and sleek, especially compared to others. To me the shield detracts from it. It looks a lot better and more modern as is.
If it's a one off, then great, but I hope it's not a permanent feature. Personal opinion of course.
I like the simplicity too but if we have a simple, white top I really like a shield like the one doing the rounds. Yeah, I'm really disappointed about this sleeve sponsor business. It's not like the clubs are struggling to generate revenue. They could just stop perpetuating their relentlessly increasing cost base by being more realistic about the wages they pay.
You don't hear Alan Shearer whining and saying he wishes he played now because the £40-£50k a week he earned in his day wasn't enough! A European wage cap would help everyone and would help to achieve the holy grail, which is a better spread of players (as there'd be less moving for money) and as a result more competitive and unpredictable leagues.
I know the papers love being able to tout a move to Real or Barca for every decent young player (mental really, still can't fathom why UK media types are so keen to ship off the very players that get people interested in the sport they talk about), but frankly, football and player trading in particular is increasingly broken and adding more and more money isn't going to fix it.
The sport's leaders should be far more deferential to the people that give them a living - the fans. The fans don't want more sponsors, they don;t want higher ticket prices coupled with higher costing Sky subscriptions. They do want good players but they also want to see cross subsidisation. That Sky subscription should be helping to keep the ticket price down, but all we ever see is the number being pushed up, exclusively to line the pockets of players and their representatives.
Anyway, that's my semi off topic rant over. Point being. I don't like sleeve sponsorship. I hope we don't have any ruining our new shirt.
Definite fake. Who the hell is 'Lamela'!?!
The people who make these fakes have too much time on their hands.
That is fucking hideous.
