If we get the semis I wonder if the matches we've played at Wembley this season could see us have a bit of a home advantage. Could see Jose moaning about it if we play United...

I thought VW was superb early on, did a lot of dirty work on the sly - dare I say it in a Vieiera style ?

Winks is so, so ready to start league matches for us - it almost makes me wish Dembele gets another injury so we can give the kid a run of games :coffee:

Well I wouldn't go that far, but as good as Dembele is, Wanyama and Winks is a better CM partnership than Wanyama and Dembele.

Berbs was technically in another class to Kane. He was however a lazy **** and not a team player. Still I've forgiven him for the whole ManU thing and just remember the moments of football magic he conjured. I'd still take Kane over him everyday of the week.

Good performance today after the doom and gloom (I felt it too) of recent games. If we can just get Rose back and maybe even Lamela fit, I'll feel a lot better about our top 4 chances.

Harry Winks was awesome again today.

He keps it so simple. When the space is tight, he rarely holds on to ball and finds a quick pass or spreads the play out wide to stretch teams. When he has the ball, doesn't stands still. He moves forward with the ball when he has space ahead. He is always there for the ball. In odd occasitions he does goes forward & makes himself available in final third.

He usually is 7/10 , today was 9/10. Some of his passing range was marvellous today.
IMO, on current form, he has got to start ahead of Dembele even in PL.

Dembele for some reason hasn't been at his imperious best. Winks isn't a pushover and can stake his claim for a starting spot.

Berba was class, but the thing that used to annoy me about him more than his languidness was a propensity for missing the easier chances he'd get presented with. He'd miss a tap in and than go and score a worldie the next game. That chance he had to win the 4-4 with Chelsea being a good example.

Let's hope those who say that Poch throws cup matches by playing weakened teams will finally hush now.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but he was against a very open Championship team today. I rate Winks very highly, but let's not get too carried away. I agree Dembele's form has been suffering too though. Maybe he just needs a rest, rotating with Winks for a couple of games here and there will do them both the world of good.

Let's hope those who say that Poch throws cup matches by playing weakened teams will finally hush now.

One swallow doesn't make a summer.

He played a strong team in the first knock out round of the Europa last year, then sent the reserves out as a sacrificial offering to Dortmund in the next round. He's got a track record of playing weakened sides in cup competitions when he's decided he's got other priorities.

Like um going for top four and finishing in the CL places which is still a priority in which funnily enough we are still involved in...go figure (y)

So let me get this straight, you're saying he doesn't field weakened sides in the cups and we should all shut up about it? Or he does field weakened sides, but it's ok and we should be fine and we should shut up about it because top 4?

But either way, lets not dare criticise Poch....heaven forfend.

Nice easy win today. Didn't feel we really got out of 2nd gear all game. Really good to have Jan back. Probably should have scored a couple. Was thinking when Kane got subbed that Jansen must fear for his future with us when even at 3-0 up against s championship club he can't get some minutes.

Neither I just think people need to realise that they're talking nonsense really and it's a complete and utter myth. The only time he's fielded a weakened team was against Dortmund, unless you can tell me what other times he's done that then I don't see an issue.

Much like how you said Sissoko was starting to answer his critics on the basis of 2 decent games, how is that one working out for you?
