Worse in the 90's, yes..........But not as bad as a good old fashioned relegation, that would liven a few of you up to reality :D

*Danger! Old fart taking a trip down memory lane alert

The promotion season was one of the most fun, from an away game perspective, that I ever had.

.

Sometimes I wish that this place was around in the late 90's, early naughties :ROFLMAO:

Some of the moaning in here is ridiculous, you can't play perfectly every week. Burnley are a well organised team who were always going to be tough to break down.

We did well to come back from behind and show a good mentality.

Our defence were in disarray whenever Burnley attacked. We missed the calmness that the defence oozes when Toby is around.

Dier scares the crap out of me at cb gets caught out of position and loses possession in dangerous areas

It's carnage on 606: absolute comedy gold. One Gooner actually stated that it was down to Wenger not being able to zip up properly.
It's amazing how quickly football hope can change. At half time today Arsenal are title contenders, 45 mins later wenger out and struggling to make top 4 appears.

Chelsea will be reeled back in. It's fine playing as they do with a week between games, but they haven't played teams off the park. What they have been is clinical. Man Utd are starting to stir. It will be interesting to see what happens when they lose a game.

Agree and I don't like him diving in for tackles in our box. You can't be in total control and he just managed to get something on the ball twice

Had to miss the game today so knew nothing about it until just now and I'm finding it hard to reconcile some peoples view that we were piss poor with the (bbc) stats that we had 30 shots on goal to their 5 with 9 on target to their 2.

Don't think we were piss poor at all. Thought we were good, just the usual prob of breaking defensive teams down

We dominated and weren't poor but lacked quality especially in the final third.

Just for info though you can't rely on stats, you can have 100 shots but all from 40 yards.. Doesn't mean we dominated.

He panics because he doesn't play there regularly.

I agree. He's much better when playing as a DM.
Although Wanyama has done well at DM, I'd rate Dier over Wanyama, as Dier is more disciplined when protecting the defenders behind him. His passing is also better than Wanyama.

I think our shot to goal average is 1/3 chances looking quickly at the stats this season which still isn't good enough. We were at the same stage last season where we were not clinical in the final 3rd despite being amongst the highest scorers last season and it doesn't look like we've improved in that aspect this season so we need to keep working on that.

Think it's a matter of time though before we really start to click, we're not that far off.
