Eriksen has a goal ratio of 1 goal in 4 games since being with us.Erikssen just doesn't carry enough of a goal threat that we need from him. Compared to Silva, or Couthinio, or Ozil he is lacking I'm afraid.
Is that goals scored or goals and assists combined? I think that's a more relevant stat for these types of playersEriksen has a goal ratio of 1 goal in 4 games since being with us.
Coutinho's goal ratio for Liverpool is 1 in 5.
Ozil for Arsenal is 1 in 5.
Silva for City is 1 in 6.
For me the problem is Lamela and therefore balance between defence and attack. When we set up as a 4-1-4-1, Lamela's work rate and fairly ok rotation give Alli Eriksen Son and Jansen enough freedom to attack at will.
In my view, Lamela is quite simply not good enough. Ridiculously one footed, not enough pace, dribbling ability, distribution, creativity or awareness for someone who is supposed to be an attacking midfielder. He is basically a hard working midfielder who can occasionally score/create a goal.
And this comes through in a 4-2-3-1. Even if Dembele is put in a 4-1-4-1 his natural instinct is to hold rather than drive. With Lamela being Lamela, it is basically up to Alli, Eriksen and Son to create, which is simply not enough against West Brom or Bournemouth on tiny pitches.
Nkoudou hasn't really had a chance yet but he's quick so offers something different. Part of the reason for buying Sissoko is also that he's different to the others. We haven't seen the best of him yet but he's got pace and power which we sometimes lack. I'm confident there's a talented player there but it's up to Poch to get the best out of him.The article singles out Sissoko and N'Koudou as having not scored at all so far since signing. I must say, I cant really see the point of Sissoko, he doesn't seem to add anything, except I suppose as creating the 'depth' that Pochettino is after, (also very lucky not to be sent off today). And its unfair to comment on N'koudou, the poor guy has barely been on the pitch long enough to get his boots muddy!
Taking last season's stats:Is that goals scored or goals and assists combined? I think that's a more relevant stat for these types of players
I feel Pochettinho has to give more PL chances to Onomah. I honestly feel we have a potential classy player who'll score and create.
Overall I'm happy with our squad just need to covert chances much better.
