Not at all. If we sign a proper, established, fitting, central midfielder then I would consider this window to be a huge success. Anything less is a failure. Poch has wanted that ever since he arrived here well over a year ago. Why on earth do you think he wanted Morgan Schneiderlin so badly? It would be naïve to think our midfield options are currently good enough with the ambitions our club aspire too.

Did you ITK source tell you that or is this just your opinion?

I can;t see any deals (mainly ins) being announced to due to the third kit release and playing RM. I think that's enough for one day. The day after RM is another game also- so happy Thursday or fun time Friday

My only concern is whether either Berahino or Werner could play the lone striker role, Berahino seems more like a support striker who can give us the option of 2 up top and join Kane, where Werner seems more like a wide attacker from what I've seen. I still feel we need a centre forward to replace Kane in cup games and allow us to rest him more. I would be happy with both though.

I don't think we'd be able to attract a pure Kane understudy of sufficient quality. And would Llorente or Austin etc. come (and would we pay for them to come), to bench warm and play 10 early round cup games?

Having two LWFs who can also cover at CF is a much more sensible approach IMO.

Why is that enough for one day? That's not how it works. We've already had a massive news day one this summer so there's no reason it can't happen again.

We did kind of announce a big signing in Toby on the same day we made one of the biggest announcements in our clubs history. I'm not sure the club really care too much about a few big things happening on the same day.

That's my point though, I'm not sure if they can cover as centre forwards. The idea of players not wanting to be undertudy's doesn't make sense, surely they would come in and try and make the first team. I'm not sure too many players join a club and accept they will be a squad player, they will want to force their way into the team. Even if it's to partner Kane as a front two. I still feel we need to replace Adebayor. If worse case scenario Kane gets injured I wouldn't fancy either Berahino or Werner to lead the line for us, or for that matter. It's a bit too risky for my liking.

There were no commercial interest attached to the stadium (yet). These pointless pre-season circuses are all about the sponsors.

Anyone else think the DM is actually Grzegorz Krychowiak and the can't be named part is genuinely due to the complication of his name?

Would fit the 'no media/ITK attention yet' angle too.

The way we play (3rd most possession in the league), we don't need a hold-up/target man striker like Ade. In fact Ade's on pitch issue last season was that he was just way too static. Having mobile channel runners is the key to our system - look at the positions Kane ends up in.

Both Berahino and Werner are 5'11" and reasonably well built. Both will become CFs as they get older. They are more equipped for lone role in our system than say the likes of Soldado/Keane/Defoe ever were.
