Right the best bit of ITK I read said, "Arsenal think MS is too expensive, so are going for Vidal". In what world is Vidal cheaper than MS, in fee & wages?

Vidal & Pogba were key to Juve's successes last season. I can't see either leaving for cheap
As @Rod101 and @mckenz have said I think it basically means value for money

Seeing as every single news outlet is reporting he's signing for Utd I'm going to guess he's going to sign for Utd, crazy I know but I just got a feeling he's going to sign for them.

I'm not so naive to think that he will end up with us - IF Man U want him, he will likely end up there.

But I've not seen a single creditable news source saying that he's definitely going there. They are all just re-quoting L'equipe or the Mirror.

And I believe neither of them. My final confirmation only happens when he actually signs on the dotted line.

Should of signed him last season when we could, just like Depay. Sometimes it is worth just paying the fee the club wants or doing your business early, because if it is true that Morgan was our number 1 target and we failed to get him it is pretty disappointing for the club.

But transfer window time for us is groundhog day every year isnt it chasing alleged targets they fall through and we then up with the cheap inferior target.
This year is no different seemingly but of course judgement can only be made at the begining of September, so i guess we need to give them a chance but it all points to the same pattern emerging.

That's the problem, we did in Soldado and paulinho and look what happened. Yes it's a bit different with MS because he's PL proven and thus more likely to be a success, but with the new stadium and having our fingers burnt with the two prior mentioned players, you can understand levy not going all out this time last year.

Did we not bid for Depay, that get accepted and he just didn't want to come to us? I might be remembering that wrong but it was something like that I thought.

Anyway back on track with MS, as much as I'd love for us to just pay the fee the selling club wants it's never that easy and never that simple because we all want to get the best deal possible and all that. It's a shame cause it sounds like we could have and should have got him last year, but with Poch only just coming in, the world cup and then the Southampton fire sale of all their good players it just didn't work out #Spursy

Why do we keep coming up with this?

He said he wanted to concentrate on the WC and would come till after then.
By then Saints had had their mega sale and refused to let him go.
Nothing to do with us paying the money at that time IIRC.

Liverpool more to be blame as once they'd had their little raid, Southampton weren't eager to sell any more of their top assets. Plus, they were a little miffed with us for taking Poch.

I agree partly with you but if Spurs had offered a bit more right I presume that Soton would have agreed a deal and, when Spurs could sniff that Soton may change their minds, could have contacted MS' agent and had him "fast forward" a binding agreement with MS/Soton. It's not that MS was busy playing games, as he was hardly used and I am sure he would have found time if he could sense the transfer was in dangerous, as he was really eager for a move.
Oh well, it's all in the past now.

Fair comment buddy. As you say all in the past.

And that is why they were never going to sell us MS: taking Poch and getting Bale on the cheap!

Lots of reports saying that Vidal is signing for Arsenal, so if Utd get their no.1 target then we may just have a chance.

It really is time to see what Mitchell brings to the table. Hopefully his algorithm turns up a CM that is better than MS and not on the radar of other clubs.
