Its too late for a sugar daddy, FFP limits what we can do with it.

If the club was bought, the new owner could put any investment into the stadium build, releasing funds from gate receipts, tv money etc to be put into players. We're in a fairly unique position in that respect, plus FFP is measured over a number of seasons, iirc, the last few have seen us cash positive so we have a bit of a buffer I believe.

As long as Stadium is not renamed as Qatar Airways stadium or Qatar Stadium, I am ok with the idea of possible takeover

Yep. I'm sure Blackburn, Chelsea and City fans hated it when they won the league.

Not at the time I'm sure, and other's never will, neither will new fans care, but there will be many I've no doubt who do feel it's a bit hollow. the truth in life is you need the bitter to enjoy the sweet, and the sweet is thatmuch sweeter if you've worked for it. Basically whatever they were before these days Chelsea and City fans are the Trustifarians of the football world, and plenty of them know it!

The stadium is going to be named something like that regardless of a takeover, so you'd better get used to it!
They can call it what they like. As long as I have been a Spurs fan, 50 plus years, and counting, it's always been 'The Lane' to me, while I breathe it always will remain so.

Mixed feelings on this. A big part of me is "enjoying" the current drama with Pochettino and the team, can he get right? etc.

A new mega owner would I believe sadly diminish my overall interest in Spurs. I'm very involved in and truly interested to see what the current setup can achieve.

I dont enjoy smooth always winning teams I'm a Spurs fan its just not right!

If ever did happen I'd probably pay a little bit more attention to 'The Mighty Eagles' where I used to go in the 70's and 80's.

I will always be Spurs..but a little less interest/involvement. IF it ever happens......which I truly doubt

yes please.

Its not even as if its an unfair advantage as it would at best put us on comparative clout as at least 2 teams in our league. We either accept we are just happy to exist on the fringes of the big time or actually accept that this is the only way to get a seat at the top table.

we cant earn our way to the top. Its simply not possible, for anything other than the rarest excursion.

I dont buy that selling our soul, no satisfation argument. West Ham fans will get plenty of satisfaction lording it over us and competing with Real and Barca if they are the recipients of a mega bid instead(which with the olympic stadium and london home is perhaps just as feasible). Think about that.

Qatar has one of the most obnoxious regimes in the world with a whole catalogue of human rights abuses. Opponents of the ruling regime (including members of the Royal family) are imprisoned without trial and are never seen again. Qataris were the main supporters of the Syrian opposition, including the factions that now make up ISIS.

But, yes let's sell our club to them if it means we have a chance to win a trophy.

Just because FIFA sold out to them, doesn't mean we have to follow suit.

Joe Lewis is no saint

He made hundreds of millions on black Monday when he bet against the currency of this country, interest rates shot up from something like 5% to 17.5% in a day, causing untold misery to millions of mortgage payers, so ANY billionaire is a **** at heart, there is no such thing as a nice billionaire so just give me a billionaire that wants to make us winners
