Have I missed something? I don't see anything in the ITK read only, has Bale said he wants to leave?

There was something in there albeit briefly yesterday that he had said his goodbyes (pictures to come) which disappeared shortly after. Then the story of the press conference that Bale was planning as we were forcing him to stay against his will. Then AVB left the travelling party for talks with Bale. (all of which surely contradicted the goodbyes bit?)

It all became a bit of a farce.

I missed a lot too, and I believe lots more unbelievable stuff happened too, maybe someone who was privy can share...

Ok no new developments, still our player and still going nowhere.

Well there was this on page 3 from Ghostofarmo but it hasn't gone in to the RO.

he's 100% going..

stop crossing fingers and legs and god knows what else..

I'm actually excited by who we've brought in and who we
are still going for..the romanian..the boy at roma etc..

some side we'll have..

Imagine this new squad if we get champs league and next summer transfer window..

really going places..without the bale price tag these signings would not have happened

However the "100%" going seems rather over the top.

No idea where it came from but I found it all in here and GB thread.
Interesting.

Read the same in the Sun this morning, as usual didn't take much notice of paper talk, and didn't want to mention it on here as I know we don't do tabloid stuff.

But I didn't realise it had been discussed on the Bale thread. Was it genuine ITK? Who promised pictures? These would prove Ghostofarmo correct in an instant, and put to bed all of the discussion on here.

What would we talk about then?

Need some ITK on something else, quickly:(

Also Ancelotti has come out saying to keep Ronaldo happy he'll let him roam wherever he wants on the pitch. Hope Bale is ready to be shoehorned into one role and told to stick there, you'll no long be the main man and far from it.

Agree. There's no way Ronaldo will let bale upstage him.

Bale will ultimately be a failure in the fans eyes as he won't be able to live up to his world record price tag the way Ronaldo has.

I love the optimism involved boys, but I have to say, outside of the hallowed ITK thread, you could only conclude that he is off this summer.

1) The fact he doesn't travel to Monaco
2) The fact he hasn't come out and publicly committed himself to WHL even just for another season
3) The fact that EVERY newspaper in the land, broadsheet or tabloid has reported a desire to leave (which presumably comes from his camp)
4) The fact that in a the wake of a serious bid from RM neither DL nor AVB have spoken on the subject
5) The fact that his holiness JJetset hears he will be off
6) I'm sure there's a sixth

Sorry to say it but there seems to be a strong case of wishful thinking around here.

Really there's no need to fret. He's been with us six years already, we've seen him transform into one of the top 3 players in the world and since he blew away Inter so dramatically in the Champs League, he's consistently given us something to smile about and be proud of culminating in last season when he just blew the league away.

If he really wants to leave we should respect it, get the most of out of his transfer and move onwards and upwards.

Don't feel bad when he leaves just remember all the times he made us cheer and whoop and say thank you for the memories Gareth, to us you'll always be a Yid.

Oh and cheers for the world transfer fee (y)

The fact it was removed fairly quickly leads me to believe it was not genuine, but don't know how it got on there in the first place.

LLM (I think) said that the squad in Monaco would show us the shape of things to come - no Dempsey but also no Bale :( - however I am going to assume no Vertonghen either (for the same reason: INJURY).

What worries me is that we have not shown the killer instinct in front of goal in any of the friendlies thus far - will knowing that Soldado is (and potentially others are) coming in sharpen some players' wits today? If not, I worry that the core of the team still lacks the firepower that we have needed for several seasons.

We are getting close to the start of the season and need to get the team to gel - if there are two or three more players to come in, will they get the chance to gel before Palace? I genuinely think this is a season where we have the opportunity to go for the league (either with what we have and Bale or without him but with the players we buy to replace him) but we have five winnable games at the start of the season and cannot afford to drop points simply because the rust that should have been worked off in preseason games is still there! And, yes. I do count Arsenal as winnable (if we have the team together).

Pjanic, Lamela, Suarez, Rolando, Ronaldo, Messi - doesn't matter who we buy if they are not ready to play as part of a team - when we play with that instinctive, flowing football that stems from the players knowing each other's game inside out (Berba and Keane in their prime is an example of this) we are an incredible team. There were hints of this last season where movement and pinpoint passes ripped midfields and defences apart. With a world class striker I can see many more of those moves (you know, the ones where you watched it build up and thought "this'll be goal of the season when it comes off") culminating in us scoring ...

But, we need the players to know each other's game before the start of the season for that to happen. We are running out of time for that to happen. At the moment, the club line is that Bale is not for sale at any price - we need to either reiterate this and address the specifics of the RM tapping up (press conference with Bale, Levy and AVB behind a desk with a flaming effigy of Perez in the background) or say what we all suspect: there is a magic number and Bale would quite like to go if he gets the chance without wrecking the club who made him what he is today - but there is a deadline for this to happen. Get answers and ensure that everyone knows where they stand.

I agree, my only fear is RM will not be offering a world record fee. They have completely unsettled Bale till he is asking to leave. Leaving us with a big problem now. If they only offer £60m do we then refuse and keep an unsettled player.

They are a bunch of sneaky bastards!

1) The fact he doesn't travel to Monaco (injured)
2) The fact he hasn't come out and publicly committed himself to WHL even just for another season (diplomatic and respectful)
3) The fact that EVERY newspaper in the land, broadsheet or tabloid has reported a desire to leave (which presumably comes from his camp) (comes from Marca)
4) The fact that in a the wake of a serious bid from RM neither DL nor AVB have spoken on the subject (keeping their options open)
5) The fact that his holiness JJetset hears he will be off (Jetset has confirmed that only a small group of people really know what's going on)
6) I'm sure there's a sixth (give us a hint? ;) )

1 - He is injured
2 - Our policy is not to comment on rumour
3 - They are a business and need to sell copy..
4 - Our policy is not to comment on rumour, and there is no actual proof of a bid being made yet.
5 - Against the grain of other ITK, good or bad news, pinch of salt required, none of us know what GB is thinking or feeling.
6 - he love chicken badge

edit:beaten to it by Indisguise

The paradox is that Gareth Bale is now a player that should be playing at the highest level, competing to win the Champions League, and Spurs will potentially only get to that level by selling him. Good luck to the boy.

  1. I believe he's injured
  2. He's got three years I think, left on his contract so doesn't have to say anything
  3. The source of the story is Marca and the rest of the media are just following like sheep
  4. Lots of paper talk about an official bid and some ITK I think, until I hear something official there has been no bid
  5. No disrespect to JJ but pinch of salt.
