So, he's basically a Hesky type player? I'm fine with that. It's helpful to have a target man that quick players like moura and son can pick up loose balls from. A player that can actually hold up the ball and let midfield and attack get forward.

Exactly. Signing players mid-season means they pretty much have to saleable by their clubs, meaning:
- They have to be out of favour or surplus, or;
- Their club needs the money, or;
- They have a buy-out fee.
and the club also has to be 'unaffected' by the sale (e.g. not needing the player for a league push etc.).
Not many decent players who meet that criteria. Not even in the league below.
