I believe Aurier has great potential if he's being played consistently as we saw in CL. He been very good both defensively and in attack but for reasons unknown Poch didn't really play him enough in league games nor did KWP really get played enough.

Yep, he has been fantastic this whole tournament.
He would be the ideal RB for us in my opinion, but I guess it depends on what happens with the takeover at Nice.

Internationals are never a good gauge , premiership is on a totally different level.
Aurier is an accident waiting to happen .
Sorry wrong thread .

Hes good but not good enough imo. Doesn't take his man on, inconsistent crosser, prone to an error. Right full back is a priority area to improve.

I don't know why but I have a feeling Serge could be about to have a really good season. Possibly the two season effect that Poch had on Walker is why... I would love it if he did. He has all the ingredients if he can sort his decision making out. Here's hoping.

P.S. Atal looks great going forward but pretty suspect defensively. I think it would be a gamble even as a wing back in the PL.

Fully agree, what people either overlook or don't know at all is how offensively minded Atal is. I watched plenty of Ricardo Pereira at Nice and despite his impressive offensive abilities, he showed plenty of defensive ability as well. Atal is unproven in a traditional full back role.

Atal is a nuclear warhead that can go off at any moment and annihilate the opponent with his insane runs. I really don't think people realize how insane of a dribbler this kid is, of the Top 5 leagues only 5 players completed more dribbles successfully than him who averaged 3.5 per game. Two of the five with more successful dribbles were Messi and Hazard, while he had more than Zaha, Sancho, Pepe, and Coman all who are considered elite world class dribblers.

His positioning as a RB/RWB is the ideal profile for us as well, as he literally toes the side line stretching defenses as much as possible and single-handedly marshals the whole right side allowing the RAM/RW to tuck in more centrally like we do right now. His crossing is decent, but with his dribbling he will more often be in better positions to cut the ball back or drive the ball across the face of the goal and create chances similar to Walker.

Also his defensive numbers are very similar to Ricardo Pereira's when he was at Nice when we were interested in him and he was one of the stand out RB's in the EPL this season along with TAA and AWB.

Would be handy against the teams outside the top 6 who mainly spend the game sitting back against us.

Exactly. You also don’t need to be a great defender when you a) have pace to recover and b) spend the majority of the game on the front foot. With our pending incomings we should see an increase in goals scored and a massive reduction in pushing for late 1 nil winners. More goals = a lot less reliance on our defensive units to not make any mistakes.

He looks quite cavalier.

Anyway, until we sell one of our right backs he’s not coming in. All a bit quiet on that and other outs currently.
