I sort of have the impression that Kono is a backup option....where we have others in mind to fill the slot he would but if those fall through (for one reason or another) then we would look to Kono (especially if he is free in the summer)....there may be interest there, but it doesn't feel like he is the #1 option for us....if he was we would either be buying now or at least trying for the pre-contract agreement.

I think Ayew may fall into the same category.....

Agreed on Kono, but I'm not sure about Ayew. I think the price and the fact the likelihood of a smooth transition due to his familiarity with Bielsa tactics would make him one of the more preferable options. Honestly can't think of any target who would be more desirable/agreeable to both Poch and Levy.

You ever watched a Biesla team play? His teams play nothing like Poch's style, dont care what any article on the internet says, it's a myth.

The core ideas are the same, but Bielsa's teams have all featured more mobile and dynamic players, thus giving the illusion of entirely different systems. As of this moment, I don't think we're even close to the way Poch intends us to play.

Fair point, I do agree that theres probably a bit more to come from Poch's system. I dont see the comparison though really, watch a Marseille match, the high press is non existent.

That is true, they do sit far deeper and use the counter. And my God are they good at it. They are clinical in their transition of deep -> Payet -> plays front line of three in behind into space. Can make this transition in 2-3 seconds tops. Turns me forest green with envy.

Payet's a nice player, hear he's got attitude issues which is probably why he's still there.

We have enough tools at the club already.;)
Page is closed on this guy. 99% he goes to Italy.

Actually, I don't think we have enough, hence part of why I like this guy. Too much timid dribbling and sideways passing going on, and I think we could use some arrogance and belief that every player on the pitch not in the same color is nothing more than a set of ankles to be snapped. Townsend is the only thing we have that comes remotely close to that.

On sky sports:

  • Yevhen Konoplyanka is still holding out for a move to Spurs, even though he looks set to leave Dnipro for Roma

On Dnipro forums there are talks about 10-15 million fee. Bizzard.

Meanwhile Yehven's dad talking to ukranian press:

"Italian journalists write about the move to Rome like a done deal, but in reality Yehven is still working with Dnipro. Roma has made an offer, we are studying the contract"

Great, we'll have a side of guys who dribble past 3 men...and then do nothing.

I'll take a side of Chadli's all day over that.
