I'm at Wimbledon today, all I can think of is the England game.

What a WC this is turning out to be. I don't think I have enjoyed an international tournament this much since Euro 96!

Really felt for Japan yesterday. What a game that was.

A Yank ref, should be interesting, wonder if any of our American fans here can shed some light on him.

Flying back to England today for a brief holiday, land and get to my parents just in time for some fine English ale and England on the Telly (as long as flight isn’t delayed).

Come on Harry, come on ???????!!

Starting to feel really nervous. Leaving early from work to watch the game at Ullevi. Sweden vs England would be a great QF, imo. Apparently England have only defeated Sweden twice in their last 15 games against each other!

Yeah Sweden are a bit of a bogey team for us...

But one thing at a time, Columbia is going to be a rough match!

Same. The way this tournament has opened up for us has me fearing England's going to find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Bar one or two tournaments England have been doing this since 1970, I'm not sure why two good results against shite and the draw opening up makes that any more likely, it's in our DNA :D

I'll let myself get carried away if we reach the final, until then I know what I'm expecting, it's my inbuilt safety mechanism :p

Absolutely, me too. Although when you look at England's World Cup record over the last 20 years (World Cup, not Euros) we have tended to win the knock out matches where we were favourites to win ie Colombia 1998, Denmark 2002, Ecuador 2006 and lost only when we came up against teams where you really might expect us to lose ie Argentina 1998, Brazil 2002, Portugal 2006, Germany 2010. If we are including the Euros then Iceland was obviously a low point but it goes against the general trend. Mainly we tend to go out as soon as we come up against someone 'good'.
