Surely we’ve no chance at signing him if he’s gvardiol levels of talent
Givardiol is 2 years his senior and currently Scalvini still needs work. As mentioned I think teams will start lining up in a year or two once he’s developed a little more but currently he’s probably just slightly too rough around the edgers for a team like City to spend the kind of sum Atalanta would want. So in theory a team like us could nab him now if we were willing to spend which we won’t. That being said I’m sure every team in world football is watching him closely. His rise to me feels inevitable tho, he’s too naturally gifted with the perfect physique and intellect for a CB. As mentioned his ability to read the game really sets him apart assuming he continues to develop on his current trajectory. Him and VDV would be a fast brick wall. Shame it won’t happen.

Our old friend Gleison Bremer obviously has a new girlfriend, and now wants to move to the Premier League.. can’t open the article because it’s behind a paywall so it’s be great if someone could oblige. Thank you in advance..

Would love to land Bremer. Very composed defender who just seems to get all his angles right and stays calm under pressure.

Bremer seems like an excellent option for us given the CAA Base agency link. Quality player that would offer proper competition and rotation at the back.

A thought I have had regarding our long term squad plan is that Deki might see time playing as the #10 at some point as he's not a natural outside winger. In this eventuality having one less midfielder (GLC) and one more winger (Raphinha) balances us out.

Not sure if Raphinha is who we should be going after, but Deki being used as midfield cover in the future I think could happen.

Unless he has been mentioned elsewhere, no mention of Caceres (Club America). Romero understudy ? And potentially cheap, by our standards.

Established himself as first choice for Uruguay now. The link to him was strong.
If I were to bet on defenders coming in then it would be Cáceres and Kelly.

Apparently, we've had a £3m bid rejected. They want £4m but could hold out for £6m. This has Levy written all over it as he negotiates over the final 10p.

There’s already a thread on him

Personally I can't see the point when we already have Donley at the club.
Must say Gloukh looks very impressive for only 19 from the few games I’ve seen of him but I completely get your point. Realistically tho if he continues to develop the only club he’s going to is Liepzig.

It’s a shame that Cherki supposedly has a bit of an attitude issue (and plays for Lyon meaning he’d be expensive to get) as in terms of current ability and potential he’d be perfect to understudy/rotate with Maddison.

Don't know but that's two reasons. I prefer Donley though as a player personally.
This is it for me. We have some great young players in this position, and while Gloukh looks a real prospect, if we keep bringing in youngsters that block the pathway of our homegrown lads then none of them will ever get a chance. Donley, Devine, and Moore would all be blocked by brining in this guy.

Its tricky. But, lets say our scouting department has determined the HG options to ultimately be insufficient, and we are better off selling them now, rather than waiting to see if the develop into top-4 caliber players.

I am not suggesting that is the case - only that the team has to look at the big picture and balance HG needs and 1st team performance. It is obviously a judgement call, and those kind of subjective opinions are always going to come under scrutiny.
