Harry Redknapp was left to reflect on 'a great opportunity' to take three points 'thrown away' at Everton on Sunday.
Goals from Jermain Defoe and Michael Dawson put the lads in the driving seat at 2-0 up at Goodison Park only for the home side to fight back to 2-2 via late goals from Louis Saha and Tim Cahill.
But the drama wasn't over - Wilson Palacios was bundled over by Tony Hibbert in added time, a penalty was awarded and, with the clock ticking into the 95th minute, JD's spot kick was saved by Tim Howard.
"It looked game over at 2-0, you couldn't see any other outcome," said Harry. "In fact, I thought it was more likely that we'd score a third goal.
"But they pulled a goal back and suddenly the crowd were lifted, the team was lifted and at 2-1 it was a different game and they came on strong.
"That's what happens when you go from 2-0 to 2-1 like that, you end up throwing the kitchen sink at it and that's what Everton did.
"We still had that final chance to go and win it with the last kick of the game but it wasn't to be.
"Jermain is obviously disappointed, but these things happen in football."
Meanwhile, Harry reported that Wilson was taken straight to hospital 'in great pain' after suffering rib injuries in the penalty incident.

Worrying, really worrying. Such a shame that this mans bravery and courage to storm into the box like that didn't end up in the 3 points we deserved. Today the Palacios we all know and love was back to his very best.

Hope it's not serious.

Not good.

From what I've heard of him, it seems we can't get Sandro in quick enough.

Oh yes, and full marks to the shitheads in the crowd who booed him as he was stretchered off.

Oh, and isn't fouling someone with a clear goalscoring opportunity an automatic red card? So why was Hibbert still on the pitch, along with the other Everton thugs who decided that hitting us was more appropriate than playing football?

Get well soon, Sarge.

Had a good game. Was lovely to see him back scampering around everywhere closing every man and his wife down. There was a moment midway through the first half where he ran twenty yards to a player that he'd never get to only to be predictably bypassed. But rather than give up he then closed this new player down. Again the ball was knocked passed him. But still he continued, like an over-enthusiastic puppy playing 'pig-in-the-middle'. Once more Everton knocked it past him but he was getting closer and sure enough his phenomenal tenacity and eye for a challenge let him finally get something on the ball at the fifth attempt. He even directed the ball straight to Niko in the centre circle who could play the ball forward to an Everton side who were left with a high line having (understandably) imagined they were in possession, therefore could push forward. It was not something we havn't seen several times last season but was the first time I've seen him do it for a few weeks and it brought a big smile to the face. Hope it means now he's got Honduras to the WC he can focus on Tottenham with a clear mind.

Hopefully. As long as he's not out for too long.

Dont think it was a clear goal scoring opportunity. The ball was running away from him and across/away from the goals making the angle harder. Should have been a yellow

Shanks might be able to answer that!

2 weeks and I'm still in pain.

There is nothing to be done, but it depends on whether the break or hit caused damage to the lung.

I'd say possibly around 4-6 weeks though - if broken/fractured.

before yesterday most were advocating Wilson a rest. Despite him having a good game I'm still sure a rest agsint Wolves would be in order, even better if he gets to put his feet up and watch some day time telly too. Obviously i hope thats all it will be and will only last till the training session runing up to the City game.

Thugs! Yep, that's what is missing from our game, maybe we could loan a couple of the Everton lads in january to give us a bit more steel:)
