I sure hope it's true.

Regardless of whether he is an upgrade on Lennon or not he is a quick skillful winger who can produce moments of magic. There are things Willian does better and things Lennon does better. We will be stronger on the wings with him in the squad that's for sure.

If nothing else it will make Bale and Lennon raise their game. I think in AVB we have a manager who isn't afraid to drop Bale when his form dips either, so having another winger who can play on the left is a good thing.

Not convinced by Willian and think we have cover to tide us by for now (Townsend/Dos Santos). I think we should address the main areas i.e. CM and goalscorer. Do what we have to to get Falcao and Moutinho then assess and scout until January whilst removing further deadwood and get in some younger back-up, do a job players then including addressing the GK and wing areas.
My 4 would be Lloris, Moutinho, Falcao and Isco.

Don`t worry, if we sign Willian it won`t take him long to convice you, he`s class, I doubt he will be coming here as cover either.

He and Bale as the left side of a 4-3-3 could be deadly. Both able to make runs down the line and both able to cut in. Could really see them playing well off one another.

I just listened to that Radio interview, and he does say that he's heard from his Ukranian source that a bid has been accepted for him.

He then goes onto say whether personal terms can be agreed, before finishing with "and if they can meet the £20 million pound asking price demanded by Shaktar" or something similar. Which leaves me feeling mighty confused!

Maybe he means Levy just got the "read receipt" from his email to them:)

I have seen also few youtube videos on William, he has good dribbling and technical skills and he looks like he has a good run, I do not know if he has the quality in passing or game vision...if he does so he is a quality signing and could partner well with Adebayour and Bale in the front line.
I do agree after reading some posts here that dribbling and technique are important, William and Bale could work their magic on the wings supplying Adebayor or cutting into the box.

I was really worried looking through some you tube stuff, then watched a compilation of a recent game and he looked quite mature in his play....

Can you give me a one member name here that watched the last 2 season of Shakhter in the Ukrainian league ??? I do not peresume to be a scout, most of us take the information from the web,at least on that kind of players.

The problem with the YouTube vids of him is that they aren't very recent. There are several other videos showing his individual performances in several games from the past year. They look much more promising. I was one of the people underwhelmed having seen the former videos.

I went and watched a few of the videos of him like 'Willian v. ...' and I agree they are much better than the highlight videos. I still don't understand why people make videos of players just doing stepovers, that doesn't appeal to me at all but the other videos are more promising.

Hope we complete this. I love Lennon, but isn't comfortable moving inside from the wing. With someone like Willian, who is comfortable both wide and in the middle. It will give Walker more room to move into.

Well looks like Dembele will be in to replace VDV, Willian in to replace Lennon (although I believe Lennon will stay). We still need a striker and a Luka replacement.

Moutinho and Llorente will not only get me a lot of "optimistic" ratings for this post, but will also get me a full blown hard on that no one will want to be in front of. :D
