Singlehandedly demolished us at white hart lane this season. About to turn 32 but is reputedly super fit, so may well have 3 good years left in him. Pace is clearly still there. Experience of winning trophies, excellent vision and flair, and would undoubtedly improve our attack, and even if he didn’t play every game, he’s good left right or centre so our depth with him, Son, Dele, Bergwijn, Lamela and Lucas would be exceptional.

On a free in a time when spending vast sums is going to be difficult, I see only upside. Even just one good season at the start would make it a good signing.

I agree, he’s a fantastic player... very creative, vision, skill, excellent at free kicks and scores some vitals goals. He’s someone who can and does influence games and whether it be from a starting position or as a substitute he’s a player who you can turn to if you need a different kind of spark.

Whereas at the moment we currently have Lamela who’s injured more often than not. When fit you can never doubt his effort but he just doesn’t deliver anywhere the consistency you need in terms of goals and assists. Our other option is Moura, he gets more goals and assists than Lamela and actually gives us a decent return but unless he’s in yards of space he’s prone to both forgetting where the ball is and going missing.

Personally I would be looking to bring in both Willian and Eze... the latter is one for the present and the future.

A new central midfielder, Lo Celso, Ndombele
Bergwijn, Kane, Son

with GK, Tanganga, Dier, Alli, Eze, Willian, Moura on the bench would give us lots of options and creativity.

Nobody, but many seem to be pointing the finger solely at Willian when Mourinho was instrumental in how things panned out, but now it seems JM is OK and Willian isn't.

Mourinho and Chelsea did nothing wrong and were just doing the best for the club. Willian clearly acted poorly but most players would've done the same and really people should get over it as I'm sure spurs have done some poor stuff in the past.

i see Willan as the girl who turned us down to the prom (his best years as a footballer) and now is willing to date us as she is getting up in years and gaining some weight. if Jose wants him, okay, but like a last minute date, isn't something that is inspiring. I hope i eat my words too.

Not a bad metaphor but you could argue that if the 'lady' in question is more experienced, that is no bad thing.

Do the people doubting his ability not remember the game he had against Spurs only a few months ago?

But then are the people that want him just going off of that game?(single handedly destroyed us is way over the top) I’ve got two cousins who have season tickets at Chelsea and they haven’t rated him for well over a year. He has one good game in three and i don’t think it going to improve as his career winds down. I’m not getting suckered in by a name signing.

Then he'll fit right in with Lucas & Lamela. He'll be a depth signing, nothing more nothing less.

Maybe I'm too carefree, but if he came and gave his all and in doing so really contributed to us achieving any of our goals, I couldn't care less about what he'd previously done. Although I guess it's a personal thing, if we were desperate for a keeper and Szczesny said he'd come on free I'd definitely be thinking fuck right off you wanker.

Nothing to do with him playing for Chelsea, more to do with us flying him over for a medical, and him jumping into a taxi and fucking off to join Chelsea
Classy

The Fraser reports sound more believable to me. Can't imagine Levy being too keen on the wages Willian would demand, and even Jose must recognise he's at an age where form could fall of a cliff quite suddenly (applies more to Willian than less pacy options like Giroud & Godin).

Fraser seems to make less sense positionally given I'm unsure how good he is off the right, but I could imagine him being an absolute menace off the bench against tiring legs (granted, that's probably not the role he envisions for himself!). Most importantly for our dear chairman of course, he's free with future resale value!

He's reportedly on £120,000 a week. Even with an increase he should be within our wage structure.

Yeah but it's the wages in tandem with the age. I'd think he'd want a two year contract too right? I'm not that keen personally.

He's hardly going to admit to anything when he's still under contract at Chelsea. It's no different to when Ndombele was less than 24 hours from signing for us and Aulas was saying we hadn't even submitted a bid for him.

Willian can eat a bag of dicks as far as I am concerned. That probably means he will end up in a Spurs shirt just to annoy as many people as possible.
